Hi Everyone,

I am very new to e-cigs, as in haven't even recieved my kit yet but I have a few questions for you. I tired to post this in the forum for specific e-cigs but cannot since I do not have 5 posts so I hope its okay for me to post this here. Anyways, I ordered a started kit from smoketip and its my understanding from reading this forum that means I am getting kr808d-1, is this correct?

I also read that I could buy carts from vapor4life and they will work on my smoke tip but does this mean all of them will work? For example they list premium, wow, vg etc... will any of these carts work for the smoketip? Will cloud9 carts also work? How about smoking everywhere carts? We have a store for smoking everywhere in my local mall and I just wondered if I ever ran out if a quick trip to the mall will get me by until I get my shipment by mail?

What about the batteries? I know I read you can switch them with v4l but does this apply only to certain types of batteries from there? When I look at their site I see kings and longs, auto and manual etc... will any of these work with smoketip? Does the length of the battery effect how much time it stays charged?

Will a smoketip charger work on V4L batteries?

I am a heavy smoker (about 2 packs of newports a day) and was thinking I will probably need more than just the 2 batteries. I am also very intimidated by all of the juice, mixing, etc and for now would like to just stick with cartomizers.

Sorry for so many questions and I appreciate any help you can give.

Thanks!

I would recommend having 3 batteries. If something happens you don't want to be stuck with only 1 working battery. If you have a kr808d-1 the all the vapor 4 life cartomizers will fit.

Usually the bigger the battery, the longer the charge.

It might seem overwhelming, but you will want to buy some juice to fill those cartomizers. It will get expensive to only use pre-filled cartomizers.

If you haven't done so already, head over to The ECF Library - E-Cigarette Forum and read the wonderful world of vaping. It is a 6 part very informative post.

vapor for life is a kr808d-1 model so if your device from smoketip is a kr808 then the v4l cartos will work. im not sure what cloud9 sells, but if it says kr808 cartomisers then they will work on any kr808 model (including the v4l vaporking batteries). smoking everywhere is a different model e-cig so these parts are not interchangable without thread adapters. as far as manual, auto, XL etc. its still a kr808 model. basically the model type concerns the screw thread pitch and design so an XL manual kr808 has the same connector as a short auto kr808. the screw threads on the chargers should be interchangable but im sure manufacturers recommend using just their charger but ive used my v4l charger on some cheap generic kr808 batteries with no problems.

As mentioned before KR808D-1 are simply a type of battery sold by many vendors, so any cartomizer advertised as working with a KR808 will work for you. I don't know about the necessity for 3 batteries.

2 Batteries and a USB Passthrough will more than do the job for you along with a 12V USB adapter for your car. Unlike batteries which need recharging a USB Passthrough draws a direct charge and is 5V which in most cases provides much better performance for vapor and taste. Batteries grow weaker with use and you can tell when your battery is starting to fade, due to less vapor and less taste.

Sitting at your computer...Passthrough, Long drive....Passthrough, for everything you use your batteries. If a USB Charger comes with your kit, get a dual plug 12V USB Adapter for your car and charge your batteries while using your Passthrough.

I especially like the XL Batteries which give you additional hours of use, yet take the same time to recharge.

Hope this helps....

juju, may I make a suggestion? For now, go to Vapor4Life-Because it's your life - E-Cigarettes/Smoking Alternatives and get your extra XL battery, get ONLY the Premium or WOW Vapor Cartomizers and your pass through and anything else you might need.

They are having a 20% Off Sale (use the Promo Code "VapeFest" when you order) this weekend, so you can get some great prices.

I deal with V4L all the time as do many others on this Forum. Some of the company names your mentioning I've never heard of. V4L has fine products and excellent customer support.

Everyone has already kinda answered your questions but if your a heavy smoker and wanna save a little money, you can always purchase the flavored carts with a bottle of the same type of juice. Then you can refill your cartos when they run out yourself. Or you can clean your cartos and fill them with a juice you like. A pack of cartos will usually last me 60ml of juice refills. It makes it a lot cheaper then buying $7 dollar packs of 5 that won't last you long esp if your smoking two packs of ports a day.

Juju, Welcome to vaping. I just received my V4L XL manual bat and I am very happy with it. I have had a great experience with V4L since I started vaping (6 weeks without a cig (analog) today). V4L premium cartos run on the warm side. For some folks warmth is an important part of TH so they prefer premiums. The cool carts run cooler, and hold more juice. The Wow juice is my favorite. Wow carts are premium or cool carts with Wow juice. You can order cartos prefilled or empty.
If you go to Youtube and search for "cleaning cartomizers" and "refilling cartomizers", there are some great videos. Look for Leaford and Krazy_Kid. Best of luck.

I'm not sure 808 is a good choice for 2 packs a day smoker. It may be OK if you spend most of the time in front of computer and can use PT, but your work is not in front of computer, you may want to go directly to a more advanced model.

Visually smoketip seems to be 808.

smoketip's starters kit doesn't offer best value, but the price seems to be somehow OK.
I don't like smoketip for misleading info:
High Capacity Cartridges our replacement cartridges deliver over 250 puffs per unit, equal to about 1.25 packs of traditional cigarettes.
If you buy quality cartos, you can get 9-10 "cigarettes" most. Not 25 for sure.

the good part:
100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEED!
If you are not 100% satisfied you can return your SmokeTip Kit for any reason within 30 days of receipt.
For returns please include your name and order number to:
SmokeTip
PO Box 26332
Collegeville, PA 19426
Since Cartridges are a consumable item, they can be returned or exchanged only if unopened and the foil seal has not been broken.
Your exchange or refund will be processed within 48 hours of receipt.

V4L is not the cheapest supplier, but believed to be over all best choice in price/quality category.

The SmokeTip (I have one) uses the same threading as the KR808D-1 and DSE901 devices without any adapter needed. Therefore you can use any KR808D-1 cartomizer or DSE901 atomizer/cartridge combination.

One nice thing about SmokeTip is that although the batteries are automatic they are 280mAh and have a lifetime warranty.

LOVE my SmokeTip...I order carts from them and V4L. I smoked almost 2PAD, and get by fine with 12 mg carts. The battery last me all day, carts last me days, and I get great vapor and throat hit. NO problems whatsoever. I haven't had any issues that I have had to contact customer service, but Dollyllama posted in the forum that they had an issue with one of the batteries, and SmokeTip sent them out a brand new one immediately. I hear great things about their customer service.

So welcome...and good luck on your vaping journey!

the only issue i have with smoke tip is the cartridges are no where near what they advertise. im a 1 pack a day smoker and go through 3 carts a day :( i had assumed that they were telling the truth, so i ran out of carts before my new carts arrived and had to run to 7-11 to get an xhalo2 starter kit to get me through till my juice and carts arrived. i didn't have a problem with the batteries but i remember reading a thread of someone who did, and they got replaced without a problem. so apparently they really do stand behind their product.

First let me say thanks for all of your responses! I have read a couple places that the carts dont equal over a pack.. 10 analogs is the most I've heard. This does bother me and I can see how it can quickly get expensive. I also don't think that their carts are a better price than most out there so unless I LOVE the flavor of them I plan on ordering some carts from V4L next. I missed the sale on the carts and am somewhat disappointed on that, but it is what it is. I am thinking about ordering a manual deluxe kit, not sure on the exact name but it comes with 2 long man batteries, a pass thru, carrying case, charging case, 2 charges and 5 karts... which makes me wish I had known about that b4 ordering from smoketip.

As far as refilling carts, Im very hesistant to do this. It seems like alot of work as far as mixing and pg vs vg etc. When I looked at V4L they make it sound like u just add a few drops to the cart where it connects to the battery and your good to go... Is it really that easy? Will this give good results?

I got my smoketip kit today... First impression is that im surprised at how close the size is to an actual 100 cig. I have not tried it yet and am somewhat confused as to the charger. It talks about charging it for 6-8 hours for the first charge and that the lights on the charge itself will change from red to green... well it was already green when I first plugged it in. So does this mean it already comes charged or do I still need to do the 6 to 8 hour charge? I want to try this thing soooo badly, so waiting is already difficult. I also can see the need for more than 2 batteries... I see different posts saying different times that a charge lasts, but if it takes 3 -4 hours each charge and the other lasts less than that I see I need at least a few more since I won't always be around a power source.

hey ive been vaping on my smoketip e-cig since friday and am loving it. my new cartos just got here today, and the "marlboro" flavor is great! these ones definately seem to be better than the ones that came in the starter kit, so don't get discouraged with the ones that come with it.

refilling these cartos are easy, and from what i hear you can refill them several times, which will save a ton of money once you have juice.

i initially charged my batteries for 3 hours, and they worked great. one battery does seem to be a little weaker than the other, but they work enough to keep me off cigs for 4 days

Thrilled that you love the SmokeTip! My roommate and I are totally hooked on the brand too. He smokes the Menthol, but like you, I love the Marlboro flavor! Its nice to find others who like the same e-cig brand I do ... seems like SmokeTip is catching on quickly and making a good name for themselves. Three weeks ago, when I started vaping and joined this forum, I really didn't see anything about SmokeTip at all.

As far as their cartomizers, I also love the almond and cherry flavors. I'm gonna try the clove next, but will also place a large order with V4L since they have such a large variety and good prices.

Anyway, good luck on your vaping journey ... and congrats on the 4 analog-free days!

Keep Rockin'!

I smoked 100's, so I was glad that the SmokeTip was so similar in size also. As far as charging...the batteries are sent with somewhat of a charge, but not fully. The first time it should be charged 3-4 hours minimum. Red to green means that is has 'a' charge, but not a full charge. It will be fully charged after a few hours. Keep in mind, that is just for the first charge ... all the other charges, go by when its green (or green and blue if using the usb with the wall charger).

Hope you're enjoying your SmokeTip as much as I do!

Good luck on your journey!

Hiya,
Nice to hear from others who use smoke tip. I have been puffing away on it since i took it off the charger and did have to switch out the battery once already after 4 hours... Im pretty happy with that but I know that I will want a couple more battery backups. Thank you for answering my questions. I wanted to say that I got the menthol flavor and it doesn't taste (at least to me) anything like menthol, but more of an interesting mint flavor. At first I thought that the other flavors sounded silly since I was trying to duplicate smoking. Now that I have this in my hand and am getting a chance to actually use it I would love to have some fruity flavors like cherry or strawberry, and vanilla sounds really good too. I will admit that I smoked a couple of analogs tonight, infact I had 2 after dinner. I tried to keep vaping and I do find it very helpful but there is something about a regular analog im still missing at this point... Did you experience this? I mean I have the hand mouth habit and the smoke (vapor) and th, but is it the lighter and ashtray ritual I miss? idk just is a little weird that I still want the analogs to me. Anyhow, I can't wait to try some other flavors and I plan on ordering some of the sampler packs from V4L and see if I can find one that really hits the spot for me.

I did cough the first time I hit the ecig and then after i some an analog or if i wait awhile in between hits I also cough... I also have a slight headache and a dry mouth. I think this has alot of potental to work for me and so far Im very happy with the purchase I made. I also had a hard time at first learning how to hit the cig and have been playing around with how I hold it and also covering the vents (which when I do this on and off I get a much bigger amount of vapor). Does anyone else hold their vapor in? or do you just take a hit and blow it right back out? It seems like it takes longer for me to feel the nic in the cig.

We are going on a trip tomorrow and staying in a hotel that is no smoking so im sooo glad to have this with me and think it will give me a real chance to get familar with my ecig.
