I haven't tried the 808's, but I did start out on the 4081's. Personally, they were fine for me, but the battery life was horrible. I think that you'll find that the connector style doesn't matter as much as the cartomizer manufacturer / battery size. I would personally go with a 510 adapter over an 808 because of all of the options you will have. (I think that every cartomizer manufacturer makes a 510 version....correct me if I'm wrong). You're also going to find that the lower resistances will drain your 4081 batts fast if they can even handle the lower resistances.... Hope that helps!

The 510 and the KR808s are the most popular styles. It all depends on what type of setup you are looking for. If you are looking for something that resembles a traditional cigarette, then the KR808 is what you will be looking at. The two most popular ones are the Volt by Smokelessimage, and the Vapor 4 Life kits. If you want more battery life then you will need to look at the larger 510 units. :)

Standard size 510, 4081 and 1st Generation 808 all have about the same 180mAh.
2nd Generation 808s are 220 mAh.
There are now all kind "mega" or "xl", or "long" versions out there for each kind, the mAh rateing can get up to 350.
(I am just talking about the "slims")

Right now, the thing that seperates 808s, is the Horizontel coil cartos out there.
The most common horizontal coil for the 510 is the Kranger at a 2.0 ohm. 2.0 ohm is intended to be used on a 400mAh battery.
Most of the accesories with 510 threading are for the big battery and mod crouds, things with "uncompatable" ohms, or would look really silly on a slim battery (picture a MAP tank on that smoke stick).

Personally, I'd consider geting both adapters. Right now, I'm useing a 510 boge on a 4081. Makes me wish someone sold decent blank cartos for the 4081, or someone made a 510 auto that was worth a darn. (to be honest, I was more placed into the 4081s by the local availability of the nJoy but I never heard anything good about 510 autos to make me switch).

The 808s have alot of options, esspecially in the prefilled cartos. v4l, Smokeless image, and at least 20 others I could name.
If you want to try the prefilled, 808 adapter is what you want.

Mega 510 Automatic Battery, Blue LED

I've had alright luck with the above..bought 3 of them late last summer and the switches are just starting to go after a good amount of use and some liquid getting in them. I cut one apart last week to see if I could clean it but broke the wires..one is hit or miss but one still works good..anyways I feel if they last me 3 months that is pretty good with a auto battery. BTW these use vacuum switches and have a 280mAh battery...

Thanks for the info. I definitely prefer the cigarette style battery, and though I'll probably UG to something better/different when my SS's die out, and from the sounds of it the 510 is the way to go. I wish I started browsing the forums before I bought this SS.

Alac, yeah I was looking at the options and availibility of the 808 carts, and was thinking about getting an adapter just to have some prefilled cartos that don't blow on hand, just in case. Just wasn't sure if there was a significant difference in the batts, though I'm guessing it's more the thread than anything.
