I started with the V2 and moved up to the ego-t 1000, when i get a new juice in I try it in the V2 (blank carto) and then fill the tank on the ego if I like it and now I have a SB.... I have learned a lot in the forums and am so glad I made the switch day 63 analog free... buying your own liquid saves you a ton....you tube videos help... have fun and keep on vaping.

Prefilled isn't more expensive than smoking if you keep them damp with liquid. I can get 7+ days use out of a prefilled KR8 carto. That's $2 for a week added to the cost of the juice. That's only slightly more than using a blank carto for a week. I now buy only blank KR8 cartos but when I was trying to find juice I liked, prefilled carto samplers were helpful.

Re Ego vs KR8

KR8 - more voltage (3.7v), the most powerful slim ecig, hottest stuff it should use is 2.5 ohms

Ego - less voltage (3.4v), much more charge, can use hotter LR cartos and atomizers (though sometimes items under 1.7 ohms can kill an encased mass-produced battery like Ego and others - some will only use really low ohms on mods). Some Ego-alikes are 3.7v, as are 3.7v mods, and these are other big battery alternatives in the same approximate voltage realm. if you plan to use LR stuff on Ego the 3.4v doesn't matter. If you plan to use an adapter to vape your usual KR8 cartos on it, you may notice a bit less warmth

Thanks for the responses. So far, I'm not using cartos on the Tornado. That was one of the things I was wondering, if I should try that. There seems to be quite a difference in the vaping experience between the two units, and I was just wondering if there was something I was missing with the Tornado. I guess I'll try some cartos with it and see. Or, I may just see if I cna find a 510 battery to 808 carto adapter. Then I can still use what I have PLUS I can try new stuff Muhuahuahuahahahaha!

Trying new stuff is one of the fun things about this, :D

Using the cartridges are your problem with the refilling. I suggest getting a box of Boge 2.0ohm cartomizers...you'll see a big improvement.

dormouse, I bought an adapter to try the 808 cartos on the Tornado battery just for fun. They measure about the same resistance as the generic cartos I bought for the Tornado, right about 3-3+ ohms. I wanted to do a direct comparo of a carto on the 808 batt and then move it to the Tornado batt for the next hit to see just how much difference the extra .3 volts is making. I'm using el cheapo generic cartos on the Tornado now, and the GOOD 808 cartos from Vapor Kings on the 808, so I wanted to be able to direct compare. Now that I think about it, I probably should have bought an adapter to go the other way too.

But I now have the 2.0 ohm cartos on the way. According to my calculations I should get quite a bit more wattage action with the 2 ohm and 3.4V as I do with the 3 ohm and the 3.7V. Hopefully that cures my sadness. So far, simply changing to cartos from the carts has made the Tornado a much better device for me.

I have to give credit to the great helps here on ECF that have led me to the best direction. This is really cool.

Thanks

Latest update: I got my low resistance cartos, and they work great! This is what the tornado needed to really shine for me.

The 808 carto to 510 battery adapter works good too. I can now swap back and forth and get a direct comparison between the 808 and the Tornado. The LR cartos make the experience pretty close to what I was enjoying witth the 808.

The ones I got are the Boge 2.0 from litecigusa. Very nice.
