I had a v2 KR808 setup and they preform just fine! It's just 510 connections are more popular, and it seems the majority of mods/Ecigs use 510 connections. If you are going to stay with a standard ecig setup and buy pree filled cartos I think you are ok. If you are going to start filling your cartos, I would go with a 510 setup as there are allot more device options. ALSO, SOME OF THE MOST POPULAR cartos, like Boge and Smoktech are 510. This means pricing is more competitive and almost every ecig supplier stocks them.

You will save time and money in the long run going with a 510 setup in my opinion.

I love my 808, but with everyone lauding the eGo (and other "Go" types) has piqued my interest. Maybe when I get paid when the school year starts Ill get a starter kit and play with it.

Hottody is right tho, there is more in the way of selection for the 510's and other types. 808's are great starters and I love mine.

If you want a mini, especially an 808. Get a smokeless image volt.

The volt is the most recommended mini on here. They have a customer service that is second to none. Of the best 808's out there, they are the most inexpensive. The halo g6 and bloog are the same battery, but SI is cheaper. you can also use the coupon code YOURVOLT00 for 15% off. With the coupon a pro starter kit would cost about $55 and gives you 2 batteries a personal charging case and a pack of cartos. They also have other options.

The battery lasts from between 2-4 hours depending on if you get the 65mm or the 78mm. The cartos are horizontal bottom coil, last a very long time and don't burn very easily, (I started with the blu and one of my biggest complaints was that the cartos burnt quickly and the battery only lasted an hour)

They also sell larger batteries for when you want something a little bigger, they are the x2's. The x2 is the same thing s the kgo, must with 808 threads. This way, you can use your cartos and clearos with both types of batteries. They will also be selling the ce3's for them, which are supposed to be on the site in the next day or so.

They also have a great promo on their subforum,. If you post a picture of yourself with your volt, they will send you a free battery, pack of cartos or 30ml bottle of juice.

Just so you get both sides, I'm in the same boat as you: I want 2 piece, no hassle smoking option. If you're going for traditional cigarette size, vaporkings.com sells kr808 batteries in normal size at a decent price but they also sell a slightly longer battery which has a 380 mah capacity. I picked up two of those manual ones, with some blank cartos and a bottle of e juice and it is very easy and simple. You can also upgrade to a Volt X2 battery from smokelessimage.com, which is bigger but has up to 1300 mah. Its also 808 threaded so it will work with a lot of cartomizers for smaller ecigs. Check out my video review in the e fig video review section titled kr808d Mega from vapor kings, I justposted it today.
Let me know if I can help clarify or if you want more hands on info about the vapor king's kr808 :)

EDIT: Looks like Mroutlaw beat me to the punch, he basically taught me everything I just said :p

I know how you feel; I got my kr808s yesterday; I ordered a volt x2, some clearomizers, and 5 10ml bottles of juice at work an hour ago -.- if you want to buy juices, vapedudes.com had probably the best deal; a 5 pack of whatever you want 10 ml, with 40% off using the code vapedudes so its around 20$. A steal if you ask me!

Just to add my 2 cents, if you wants a good, low cost device with great cutomer support that is an 808 I'd have to say deal with smokeless Image. What makes the difference with them is there CS and prices. I myself started with a Red Dragon starter kit, moved up to the Volt and love it. Very fast shipping, low cost and great CS are big deals to me. Also do keep in mind they do make adapters that allow you to use and 808 battery with 510 carts if you really need to. As we speak I am vaping on my 78mm volt with a gotvapes Pheonix and it is a great setup. So with that I wish you well in your hunt.

I just wanted to point out that the replacement batteries for the pro starter kit from smokeless image cost $12.95 for standard length, not $18. And the Kgo is a great battery, costing less than Smokeless Image X2 batteries which are basically the same thing but with 808 threading. Even so, I prefer Smokeless Image because of the great community in their subforum here, with fun contests running all the time, and their amazing customer service. That's just my personal preference though. I have nothing against the Kgo line of products and I'm sure the starter kit you linked is great. I wish Smokeless Image offered X2 starter kits, but apparently they're still working on it.

NOt sure where you're getting THOSE estimates from but they are WAY off from my experience.

It’s true that a 650mah or 1100mah battery will last proportionately longer than a 380mah battery, but if you vape 380mah in 2 hours the 1100mah will only last you about 6 hours not days. I'm using the info for the Volt 78mm battery which is only $1 more. There really isn't much reason to get the smaller 220mah batteries. Please try to be more factual when advising people coming here for assistance.

Things to consider…
1) Form factor.
Volt: 808 style similar to a cigarette
Kgo: More like a cigar…fatter and longer more bulky in your pocket

2) If you want an 808 style all 808’s are not created equal. The Volt is a newer technology than most out there. Their batteries are sealed (no worries about a couple of drops of e-juice destroying them) and regulated to provide a constant vape at 3.6v. Aside from their excellent customer service…this is what makes the Volt better than most 808-D size devices.

3) If the size of the e-cig doesn’t matter then an Ego, Kgo or variable voltage Ego-Twist are great choices, and Hoosier's is a great vendor ( got my Kgo from them).
I have a Volt system that I use every day as well as a Kgo and a VV-Twist. They are all fine devices and I’m quite happy using the “right tool for the right situation”.

First of all, the volt pro starter kit is $65 but there is a 15% off coupon so now it's only $55. Shipping is free. Add $1.70 for the 78mm battery. The 78 mm battery lasts 3-4 hours.

You can get a 3rd free battery from the faces of volt promo. So now you have 3 batteries, a pack of cartos and a mega pcc for $56.70 shipping included.

Both the volt and the kgo are 3.7v so there is no difference

Second of all, the replacement battery is $13, not $18. There is always a good coupon, so you can always get it for $11 or less

Wanted to add in as well that I use 2 78mm Volt batts and they last me all day, I go thro 2 phoenix BC 1.6 mil a day on average if not a 3rd. The second batt is not dead by the time I stop for the night either. That is with 2 fully charged 78mm. As with any batt the time can be longer or shorter depending on how you vape.

Apologies if I got the Volt battery price wrong. I used to order new batteries for myself and my husband who has a Volt PCC and used the standard batteries. Two hours was the life of the battery for us.

I can confiirm that my husband and I both use the Kgo and that 1-2 days is as long as the batteries last for us.

Sorry, but I never rely on there being a coupon price when I am online shopping. I always think in terms of the 'real' price.

I also am one of those people that consider the 808 as a 'transitional' model. There are 808 enthusuiasts who no doubt would disagree. It's up to the OP as to what he/she does.

Simple math, and my experience with both the Volt 808D and the Kgo causes me to question that claim.
Volt battery is 380mah
Kgo battery is 650mah or 1100mah
Both are regulated and vape at about the same voltage (3.6 vs 3.7v)

650/380=1.71 If the Volt battery lasts 2 hours then the 650 Kgo battery will last 3.4 hours given the same resistance attachments and vaping style.

1100/380=2.89 If the Volt battery lasts 2 hours the 1100mah Kgo should last 5 to 6 hours given the same resistance attachments and vaping style.

How you’re only getting 2 hours out of a Volt battery and getting DAYS of vaping out of a Kgo is beyond me. I have both and the math holds up for me.

I'm assuming they are referring to a 65mm batt and probably a total. Like me I can get away with 2 78mm batts all day but in reality that is more like 4-6 hours of actual vaping.

Even with the 65mm battery (which nobody is suggesting the OP buy)the math still doesn't work out.

The 65mm Volt is 220mah
650/220=2.95 So 2 hours with the 65mm Volt would give 6 hours with a 650mah Kgo
1100/220=5 So 2 hours with the 65mm Volt would give 10 hours with a 1100mah Kgo

How do you stretch that into DAYS of vaping????
