So to start off prior to me starting my ecig venture, I could easily smoke a pack a day of your average full flavor analogs. Way more during the weekends and on days off. I recently picked up a kr808 xl from v4l. I've been somewhat enjoying it, i've been testing some different carts and have just picked up my ce2 clearomizers. They take my cravings away much better then the wow vapor v4l carts. However I'm running in to a few issues I can't seem to nail down. I've been using a 36mg PG juice from v4l as well and it isn't taking my cravings away nearly as much as when I first started. I've browsed around and read in to a 5v mod. However I ask the question would it be cheaper and easier to get a higher juice before going with a full on battery upgrade on my kr808? I've gotten a few accessories for it so far including a usb passthrough that I use mostly while at home or work. So battery life really isn't an issue, even without that the xl seems to last me through the work day and have a pcc if I need a recharge on the go. So I find it harder to think of going with a full on battery upgrade then a juice upgrade, have even looked in to DIY which I think I will probably need to do if I plan on going any higher in the nic department. I also have to say I have a extremely high tolerance to most everything.

On a side note this is the first day with my ce2's to be able to get a more accurate reading on exactly how much I am vaping daily. So far in a 6 hour window I would have to say if I syringed all the juice out of my ce2 I'd be in the .5ml range used so far. I'm really wanting something stronger or something I don't have to vape as much of. Since I'm using a 36mg now and am vaping maybe a ml in a full day would a 44-48 mix be acceptable for the needs i'm looking for?

Flavor, th- doesn't matter to me as long as the cravings go away as I'm still averaging about 2 analogs a day just to take the cravings away.

Thanks for any advice in advanced.

Welcome to the ECF! It is difficult to recommend going with a higher concentration than 36mg. Most pack a day smokers start off with 24mg and can step down to 18mg or so pretty easily. Some do like it higher, but I would recommend trying to tough it out with your 36mg for awhile longer. Keep in mind that there are a lot of other chemicals in cigarettes that also play into the addiction and it may take a week or so for your body to feel satisfied without those. Higher voltage is going to increase the throat hit and change the sensation you get, but if the need is truly about nicotine, you are not going to see much of an improvement.

I smoked a pack a day and currently use 24 mg nicotine and have recently started DIY and added a box mod after 8 weeks on a kr808 by another company than yours. 36 mg is pretty high are you inhaling the vapor or chain vaping and blowing it out your mouth without inhaling? I don't know what to tell you I went from nicotine gum to this. Both my husband and I vaped very heavily the first few weeks now about 3 ml's a day which is still considered a moderate to heavy vaper I guess. I wish you luck and there are alot of people here with more experience at this than me I am sure will chime in to help you. I don't think you should go higher nicotine than 36 mg. its not recommended from what I've read.

Inhaling, and I'll chain sometimes(I consider chain vaping 8+ hits in a row I suppose) when the cravings are bad. I suppose the logic in going higher is I'm not actually doing much over a ml a day, so add more ml or mg.

I use 6-7mls a day of 18mg. You need a bigger PV to curve your cravings. Small proprietary batteries stopped working for me after 2 weeks in. I bought an ego, worked for awhile but even that stopped curving the cravings. Bought a cheapy box mod and it stopped it. You need more voltages..the higher the voltages, the more vapor is produced and the bigger hit you will get.

I use 6-7mls a day of 18mg.

But in theory because of the way juice is measure 18mg/1ml so if you using 6-7 halving those is 117mg of nicotine a day right? So wouldn't 1ml of 48mg be just as effective?

I ask because looking in to a total upgrade of all my current stock it would seem doing a higher mg instead of a better pv would be far cheaper. Or maybe doing more ml a day.

You need to consider not only how much nic you get per day, but how much you get per hit. For instance, I was a pack a day smoker. But I can't handle more than 18mg liquid. At 24 I get chest pains after the second inhale. So the way i vape is I take two or three hits every five minutes or so.

People absorb nic at different rates from vaping (would depend on how exactly you inhale, personal body chemistry, etc), but there is also a difference between how you absorb it from cigs and from vaping.

So you need to play with different factors before you find your "sweet spot", even without taking into account all the other chemicals in cigs that you are probably craving.

Look at it this way also: right now you are smoking a couple of cigs a day. That beats the pants off a pack a day, yes? So that's huge progress. Give yourself some time to adjust. With time and patience and some willpower, the cravings will decrease, and hopefully you'll be able to cut the cigs out altogether.

That said though, if it's not important to you that your PV looks and feels as much like a cig as possible (after four years, it's still important to me once in a while, so I still have my KR808-1 autos, and use them in the morning when the cravings sometimes still hit), you could do worse then get a good mod. The feeling and satisfaction is much better with a mod. I resisted getting one for a long time, thinking, like you, that I had one setup already (in my case several, I had stick 510s in several varieties, eGos, KRs, etc), why spend the money? I finally broke down and got a ProVari. Let me tell you, the difference is *huge*, satisfaction-wise. I should have gotten it a long time ago, rather than spend all that money on all the stuff I have...

Good luck and keep up the good work. :)

Lol sounds like my gf. So if I was to go from a kr808 could I go to a 510 with better vapor results as from what i'm reading at least I could get an adapter and use most of my current 808 carts, the passthrough would be useless which I like but guess chalk that up to trial and error.

I like the 2 piece set up of the kr808, and sure I could get a 510 2pieced but would it really be that much more vapor?

I am not an expert, but I don't think a 510 would help you much. the advantage of going to a bigger battery is more than just battery life- you can use LR cartos or attys on bigger batts and that will give you a better hit

if you are still not satisfied with regular juice after awhile, you may want to look into WTA juice. It has helped some people

You are already using extreme nicotine. IMO if you can't make this ecig work then you need a big battery model and LR cartos, not more nicotine. You also need to find juices with flavor/aroma that satisfy and calm you.

Do you have manual batteries? if not, Buy a vapor4Life manual - much easier to get a good hit with manual and the V4L batteries that say so in the description have a 10-13 second cutoff - you can take a long drag

Have you paid attention to how different flavors make you feel? Some new vapers cannot vape food flavors - food flavors make them feel like they just ate and make them crave and analog. I was like that and have found other like that - I could vape the food flavors mixed into tobacco juice but it was 2 months of no smoking before I could vape food flavors alone. Some new vapers are the opposite and are fine on food flavors but cannot vape tobacco flavors because they remind them of cigs and make them want one. Some can vape any flavor right away. Pay attention to see if your juice flavor choice is causing your cravings.

Agree with Hairball. You need a stronger-hitting PV/ecig.

Good: Riva Lite Bundle from E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings $30 (click the 20% off in upper left or you'll pay more)
For the Riva you need
3.0 ohm cartomizers
510 Drip Tip

Better: KGO 3.7v (harder hitting) 1100 mAh (long lasting battery) kit $42 to $46 depending on vendor. It's an ecig in the Fat Batt class that rivals a mod in performance for under $50.
Vendors:
BreezEsmokes
Hoosier E Cig Supply
Dark City Vapor

For the KGO you need
2.0 ohm cartomizers. You can use any of the low resitance LR labeled supplies with a KGO safely. The lower the number the hotter the vape. It's more of a cigarette-like experience. When you're new 2.0 should do it, nice and warm. Try the 1.25 to 1.8 ohms once you get the hang of it for a very warm vape.
510 Drip Tip

Hope you get to a happy vaping spot quickly. Good luck.
