What are the advantages/disadvantages of this 2 piece model compared to the 510 (only PV I know personally)?

I'm just curious.

well I have been vaping the KR8 for about half a year now... I love all the models I vape, but definitely find the cartos to be a necessary item to have.

they are a handy quick to go item,,, and performs pretty well.
They can be refilled if so desired... if you plan on refilling best to buy blank cartos and fill with juices you know you like....

Some people use this as their only device and are satisfied with them...of course you will get your fanboys on any model, but from a consumers point of view it is definately worth the try to see if its your thing

like I said (this goes for if you know your fave juices) blanks/empties are the way to get the true experience with the KR8s so you know it isn't foul juice that taints your experience.

Shop around and you will find great prices....

I can honestly say it is worth the try.... I don't live by them, but they also don't sit in a drawer collecting dust if you know what I mean (well some are since I have tons of blanks hehe)

i am trying this KR8 myself, but i would never advice it without a proper warning.

they are easy to use, as long as you just use the cartos and throw them away after they are vaped dry, and the stock batteries last longer. right. but i don't see them performing above the 510.

plug and play, change flavors by changing carts, 2 pieces instead of three, long batt life, long cartomizer life. slightly larger diameter mouthpiece than the 510, longer in length than the 510 (1-2inch?). Batts avail in black/white/colors and manual/auto. Disposable atomizer/cartomizers can be refilled several times before discarding. Blank cartomizers are available to refill with your own liquid of choice, hold 3/4 to 1ml. Very convenient for extended out and about use - just grab an extra batt and some carts.

Drawbacks: cartomizers can be duds, thereby increasing the overall cost of a 5-pk. (out of five 5-packs, I've had only 2 duds, your mileage may vary).

I actually prefer my 510, the KR8's are ok, but I get better vape out of my 510, I only use my KR8's at 5.v

I expect Janty's "Tesla Filter" to vastly improve the 510...carts will be fully drained (improving their longevity) and they apparently won't leak as much either.

The KR8's are ideal for folks who don't wish to mess around.

Yeah I don't understand why some spit down on the 510 part... I love my 510 as well and it is a decent model no matter if one loves it or not.

As far as the burning filler material as a disadvantage,,, well it is less likely if you keep it juiced up,,,, and it is mentioned from time to time not necessarily as a disadvantage, but as a sign that you are waiting to long to refill or you are vaping it dry. Granted it isn't a "carefree" model, but it can be a no hassle model.

Well, yes, but unfortunately, by the time you get that warning, you will have already vaped burned plastic – and I don't really think you can reasonably compare that to a burned taste (but no discoloured fibers) in a 510 or another model.

I also don't quite get the "change carto, change flavour" argument. Of course you can, but I keep quite a few atties ready (if I don't keep a flavour on a ready-to-vape complete PV anyway) with different tastes, same difference, really. And yes, the 510 atties may be more expensive initially – but I can use them für more than a dozen refills, which is a number I ran across quite a few times.

When I first learned about ecigs (saw some blu advertisements on the net) I started looking into them and it brought me here. I spent two months reading posts and really wanting to try one but money was super tight and I couldn't afford to spend on something I've never tried and wasn't sure would work for me.

I was at first drawn to the 510 as it seemed the most popular model here but I read pages and pages of problems and "mods" and the tinkering that people did to get their 510 working. Honestly that scared me off a bit, I wanted a smoking alternative, not a new hobby. I started reading up on the KR8 and checking subforums and finally thought, this is something that I can do!

I've recently had a chance to try a friends 510 and am still very happy with my choice. It works for me!

Much of this has been covered...but I'll add my 2 cents. Started with a 306, added a 510, added cartomizers later. I like all three for certain things.

Pro:
1/ Life of the cartomizers. I can fit 1-1.5ml into a carto, fill up a bunch of them, and be good for long drives.
2/ Switch-off is easier than 510s IMO. This is good in the car. I can switch flavors with less mess than I would with a bunch of filled 510 cartridge+atomizer combos (and definitely safer while driving than trying to drip!).
3/ Much better flavor than the 510s (IMO, others disagree).
4/ No cleaning. I don't clean my cartomizers, just refill them. I find I have to blow out my 510s every night or they get wonky.
5/ Disposability. I can get five cartomizers for the same price as a single 510. The price of messing one up is lower.
6/ For absolute beginners, it's idiot-proof to screw on a cartomizer to a charged battery and vape away. But...

Con:
1/ ...for beginners it's also easy to burn the cartomizer.
2/ Weak vapor and power on a regular KR8 or adapted 510 battery. I understand how a 510 can satisfy an ex-smoker right out of the box; I didn't find a standard KR808 battery to be satisfying. I only vape 5/6v with my cartomizers (and love cartos at high voltage!).
2b/ Of course, high voltage vaping with cartomizers makes it really easy to burn them unless you're careful.
3/ Filling takes more of a learning curve with cartomizers than with standard atomizers.
4/ The prefilled cartomizers taste awful to me. (Yes, even from that place-we-all-know with the "4" in its name.) Metallic/tangy undertaste I can't get rid of or clean out. I buy blanks and fill them, which slightly reduces the convenience factor.

Come to find out it had KR808D-1 stamped on the box when I got it. Been a great product. I've been using it constantly since aug 22nd with no failures and more importantly no analogs. Get stuff from V4L, litecigusa, nhaler now as far as pass-thru's, cart's and juice, but all my batteries are still original along with the chargers and stuff. This was the month I broke even on everything I purchased so it's been a good ride.

I am a 510 guy myself, I've been really happy with their performance for months now. But like you I was curious about the popularity of the kr8, so I ordered an adapter for my 510 batts. (about 3$) and a 5 pack of blank carto's(10$). It came in thursday and I've been using the first carto out of the pack. It performs very well, does not seem to drain the mega batteries as fast as the 510 does and I can see continueing to use both going forward. The adapter and single 5 pack is an inexpensive way to give them a try.

I started with a 901,think that 808 blows them away 2piece easy to switch to a different one,easy to refill,better taste,last longer I drive a semi truck so these are much more convenient.

Wow, thanks for all the responses. I think I might have to buy a PT and some cartos now with my next juice purchase.

It sounds like it would be a lot easier to get others to transition with this than a 510 since it's so much easier to use.

Only a dozen refills...really? I'm surprised. That's not exactly a glowing recommendation. I can get nearly as many refills from my V4L cartos and they only cost $2. What are you paying for 510 atty's?

A dozen refills for KR8s - on my 510, I do get a few more. Somewhere in the three-digit-range, I should guess, since I neither count my refills, nor have I broken enough 510 atties to have any idea on how long they last with me.

Don't buy cartos expecting huge vapor. buy cartos expecting good flavor and throat hit and the most convenient devise out there. With these expectations you will love the KR8

In order of use. BluCigs, M401, 510, 901 and finally the KR808.

I think the 510 is a pretty good PV. But the KR808 is more convenient to use and the taste of the liquid is just amazing. I have never gotten better flavors with any of the other devices. It was almost a brand new way of vaping with a KR808.

The caveat of disposable catomizers is that you dont know when to throw them out and start a new one. Sometimes I refill them 5-10 times.

I love my kr8! Great flavor and TH and have no issues with vapor. Perhaps its because my juice is 30% or more vg? I made a diy mix the other day with 85% vg and the vapor was incredible. The cartz are very convenient and I am still using my original 5 cartz from the kit purchased in November. They have each been used 2 dozen or more times. Just rinse with water or pga and let air dry overnight then fill.

I have to agree to get the empty cartomizers because the prefilled flavors tend to stay for a long while.
