Just got my kr8 from vapor4life, dont really know what to make of it yet, i was smoking an OTC for the past two days it wasnt great so i was really looking forward to try the kr8. I cant say that the kr8 gave me what was missing from the OTC, I did try 24/18/11mg, also tried different flavors but still i dont feel satisfied... oh no:(

There are couple things of concern:
1. I am hearing crackling noise everytime i inhale, is it normal?
2. I ordered extra batteries and one of them wont screw all the way, that means i cant use it, right?

1. The crackling is normal, don't worry about that.
2. V4L don't ever stick to the same battery connector it varies from batch to batch so some cartos don't wanna screw on properly.

A lot of the prefilled cartomizers are pretty horrible, when the juice sits inside the cartos for a while it can taste funky, you should order blanks and some different juices to try. The KR8 is definitely the best cig-sized PV out there it has the best battery life, you just have to find the right type of cartomizers and juices which work best for you.

Thanks firefly, i have about 8 different flavors i havent tried all yet but i think i kinda like cappucino. Its just that something is still missing and I donno what exactly it is. The TH is definitely there (that made me choke) but maybe it is missing the lung hits?!? It is just not satisfying enough.

i might have asked this question before but is it unrealistic to ask for the same type of lung hits from an ecig as what i get from a real cigarette?

It is unrealistic to get that kind of hit from a cigarette sized e-cig, the batteries just can't take the abuse from a low resistance atomizer / cartomizer. If you got a Riva / eGo kit with low resistance cartomizers / atomizers then that simulates more towards 5v, your e-cig is 3.7v, it's quite a difference. Don't get me wrong i do love my KR8 stuff, but when i'm agitated and need a beastly hit, i have to hit something harder.

firefly, i will also be receiving my eGo hopefully tomorrow, this is what i ordered, the special ECF offer:
Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Joye eGo

I also ordered these cartimizers:
Electronic Cigarette - Cartomizers - Joye eGo Cartomizer

Will that be the same as what you are describing?

The eGo cartomizers you got there aren't bad, but they don't hit as hard as something like these :
Refillable 510 Cartomizers 2.0ohm

They don't hold half of what those big ones do, but they do really kick and are very easy to top them up with liquid.

Of course there are other options like atomizers if you like dripping and stuff, the highly touted Cisco LR306 atomizers are compatible with the eGo and tonnes of people use them : Cisco LR306 1.5 ohm Atomizer + Drip Tip Special - Avid Vaper I don't have an eGo on me to test if it needs a different drip tip to fit with the eGo cone on, but it fits on the 510 threads and is a beast with vapor.

Thanks Firefly for the links. I like to use cartomizers(as of now) so I guess I am more interested in the 510 2ohm. I suppose these 510 carto fits an ego?

Also, can you clarify what "hitting hard" means? I am getting TH from the kr8 and at times it is too harsh, but still feel like missing something. So if hitting hard means even more TH I dont know if can handle..:p

The Boge 2 ohm are a nice carto on Riva/eGo. Litecigusa has good pricing on Boge 2 ohm 510 cartos, and I just ordered 3 packs from NHaler at about the same price.

On the V4L gear, they have both cool carts and Wow. The cool carts are up around 3.3 ohms while the wow are 3 or a bit less -- wow will have better hit/warmth.

For Lung hit, I believe most standard V4L juice is high PG, at least 80PG/20PG and maybe some is even closer to 100PG. Vapor (lung hit) comes from higher VG. A lot of places sell juice with higher VG. You can reuse cartos, refill with juice, particularly if the juice is the same basic flavor family (tobacco in a tobacco carto, etc.)

The crackle is indeed normal on V4L particularly -- generally a sign of a good fill.

I am intrigued by these two, but what the heck battery are you supposed to use?! Both cases say not to use an eGo or regular 510...so, er, what CAN you use? :?:

It's just a warning because low resistance atomizers and cartomizers can damage ego / riva batteries, well, it DOES damage them over time but some people get away with using them for months with no problems, some people only days, luck of the draw really, but to be honest when a riva battery is like 15 bux it's not a big deal to replace one if it does go bad. I just recommend only using 2.0ohm and above if you want the chances of them lasting to be greater.

You are only supposed to use low resistance cartos and attys on real mods that use batteries which are made to take the abuse, riva / eGo batteries can't deliver the amperage needed, that is why if you use the same atty / carto on a mod with say a 18650 battery, it is a big difference, because the riva / eGo is not even 3.7v, it's more like 3.1-3.3v under load.

When i say hitting hard i mean the amount of time to get a warm tonne of vapor in your mouth with a nice throat hit, at 3.7v i could easily do a 10 second pull and it just be alright, but with low resistance, 3-4 seconds and it is KICKIN lol, you'd wanna step down the nic level if the throat hit is already too much though.

Thanks everyone...

Firefly, so from what you are saying, my understanding is, for my case, it is not the nic level that is the problem (since I am getting TH and sometimes more than i'd like), it is the voltage that will give me what i am missing?!? I am still experimenting the nic level, 11 is too lite i think, 18 sometimes give me too much TH, but then 24 seems to be okay... dont make sense i am so confused....

Anyways, bought myself a package of those LR 2.0 cartomizers, will see how that helps.

Thanks to all of you for all the info.
