I think they are some of the best atties out there. However! It is a genisis-style atomizer. Which are considered to have a much steeper learning curve than most other atties. 'Hardcore' genisis users use mesh wicks, which can be finicky to learn. With patience it is very much possible to learn. Just want to give you a heads-up so you don't end up hating gennies for all the wrong reasons. :)

Head on over to the gennie subsection and have a look around.

(Hope you don't mind me reporting the post so it'll get moved to the gennie section. No harm done. No hard feelings. Not easy knowing where the various topics go. :))

Wicked atty - not sure i would go this route to learn rebuilding though unless you have the patience of a saint.

Genesis = some of the hardest builds to master but one of the most rewarding when you do.

Genesis is basically a dripper with a tank under it ....

A genny IS NOT A DRIPPER. It's a genny and uses mesh, period. Seems the dripper crowd wants to turn everything into a dripper, even buying gennies to build them as something they are not, and then calling them drippers.

I was glad upon returning here to see a new sub-forum for gennies, and at the same time disappointed to see the dripper fanatics already in it trying to subvert it, posting such disingenuous threads as "What's your favorite wicking material?" and promptly launching into cotton and a dripper style setup, in a GENNY FORUM!

One of the reasons I'd been away from ECF for months was that every time I mentioned a genny here the dripper fanatics would pile onto my thread, shouting me down with their fervent dripper mania and hijacking my thread. Don't you people have your own forum? Why isn't that enough for you? Do you really hate gennies that much, or do you just have to do your utmost to shove your thing down our throats?

The Kraken is a highly regarded genesis atomizer, many people love them!

If you haven't tried a gennie in the past, it may not be the simplest one to start with. I'd recommend picking up a Smok RSST (pyrex or plastic, but I'd stick with the single coil). They can be found online for super cheap (there was a thread talking about places selling them for as low as $5), and have a few characteristics that make them easier to build (insulated wick hole, lots of room to work with under the cap, etc). They're cheap enough that you don't have to feel worried about playing around with drilling out the air intake etc as well.

I use gennies exclusively at this point and have for the last year or so. Though I've picked up other ones to try (not the kraken yet though) I still go back and use my pyrex RSST on a regular basis.

I too was thrilled to see a Genesis subforum started up, feel free to peruse the threads in this section to get a better idea of what gennies are all about.

When it comes to using something other than mesh in a genesis, I kind of see it being like towing a boat with a corvette. Yes the power is there and it will move your boat, but you're not getting the full enjoyment you could be out of the product by using it as intended.

Lastly, as always, to each their own. If you want to buy a gennie and fill it with cotton you can certainly do that and may get a vape you enjoy, the important thing is that you find what you like best and what keeps you away from burning tobacco. People can offer their experience and their recommendations for what works for them, but that doesn't mean doing it a different way is wrong. :)

Yes, to each their own, but the dripper people don't seem willing to extend that consideration to we who use gennies. Every thread I ever started here about a genny was piled onto by the dripper gang, and hijacked in favor of their thing.

They can't let us have our space, they have to invade it and push their thing in it. Now we have a forum for gennies, and they are right on top of it, doing the same thing here. They cannot leave it alone. They have forums for their thing, but they just have to come here, saying a genny is really a dripper, and touting cotton and microcoils and how to turn a genny into a dripper. You can't talk about a genny on ECF at all without them doing this. Why? We don't do that to them, why are they so obsessed with doing it to us? Why can't they just leave us be about it?

People who are so obsessed with pushing their thing on others really put me off. They are one of the main reasons I stayed away from here for months.

I can't claim to have the patience of a saint at all, and learning to build gennies just wasn't that hard for me. I found it a lot easier that fussing about with other attys. I can re-coil and re-wick in 3 minutes and it works right for me every time. Mesh wicks and coils I had down pretty quickly and I've been enjoying excellent vaping every since.

I have no problem, but I feel its good to at least warn people, some people seem to have horrible luck figuring out geni's

I'm aware of that, I know of one vaper who can't even roll a mesh wick. Maybe it's just that there are genny people and non-genny people who can never quite get there. Fortunately there are other atty's for them. Gennies seem to be a niche thing for a small group of vapers who don't go along with the herd, and are a bit old-school.

I know what you mean, GrimmGreen cannot roll a mesh wick to save his life. He told me he tried over 40 times and they all turned out horrible, so he hates mesh now and is not the least shy about denouncing it as worthless, when the truth is he just can't roll a wick. Somehow that's just not among his abilities. Meanwhile lots of people use it all the time and love it.

I have a Kracken and a Persius. The Kracken was actually my first RDA. I love it and would still use it every day but I hugged it too hard and broke the glass. Lol! The persius is a little easier to build on. Negs are on posts instead of just laying down on the deck and there is a hole in them as well as in the center pos post. The wick holes are nearly twice the size of the holes in the Kracken and the air flow is about twice the volume as well. It's my ADED goto right now. Gennys are easier to me than the kayfun type tanks for a build. I'm old and don't see as well as I used to , and I have big, stubby fingers, so trying to wrap a piece of 26 or 28G wire around those tiny little scres in the kayfun was a huge pain in my you know what. Some folks don't like the gennys, but those of us who do swear by them.

Thanks WattWick, mine is ser# 519, and I'm very pleased with it. I was very happy with my RSST's, but my new Kraken has become my full time vape and now the RSST's are just sitting there. Never thought that would happen. Also very glad I got the authentic instead of the clone :)
