Kylin Flavorless

I got the Kylin and have finally got it to stop leaking by wicking it accordingly but still having a hard time wicking it. I have realized it has to be wicked perfect (not to much cotton not to little) but I noticed under the coils the cotton tends to burn or get black but also can't get any flavor from this thing. I'm using kanthal spaced coils 8 wraps @ 3mm dual coil which comes to .35 ohm.
I have also tried 3mm Clapton's @.15 and still no flavor. What gets flavor blasting?

I'm a newbie at building so any advise is greatly appreciated

Also after a few days vape gets harsh.
Which I am assuming it's from the cotton burning??

Sorry I can't help but I'd really like to know the solution to this issue since I am considering buying this RTA.

Ok thanks. I am getting very fustrated with this tank. Vapor production is great but weak flavor.

If cotton is burning in the coil it can't be wicked properly because that means the cotton is not getting saturated. If the cotton is not getting saturated you won't get any flavor obviously.

Makes sense, I guess I am using to much cotton. I will try less. Thing is the vapor is making some huge clouds just with out flavor.

Burning cotton will make great nasty tasting clouds.

Well I have it wicked pretty good, so it's hard to believe that after a dozen times wicking this thing that the flavor stays completey muted.

I'm wondering if this tank needs crazy coil builds to get flavor. I just don't understand how I can be getting loads of clouds with a very muted flavor

Post a picture of your build and wicking. Maybe someone can help.

Wattage and mod might help also....
As will more info on builds.. ohm alone is meaningless.
You tried more or less watts.. more or less air.

Pics help not everyone has every atty. But most have an atty close enough to advise if we can see what we are dealing with.

Sorry I'm new to building but your correct.
It was a combination I think , wicking and my mod ramp up time as well as my inhale . I used less wick to wick quicker and have Kanthal Clapton's going. My problem seemed to be the whole coils not heating up fully. Now when I give it a good blow and give it time to ramp up it's like heaven lol. I'm vaping Dinner lady lemon tart and it's like biting into the real thing lol. Loads and loads of cloud at 77 watts.

That really depends on how much you vape and what kind of juice you use. I rewick every 2nd or 3rd day. I rewick my wife's tank maybe once a week.

Ya make sense. This tank eats juice so i started to get harsh hits on the 3rd to 4th day. Is that how you know it's time to re wick?

In a tank yeah. You'll get a feel for it. I use RDAs anymore so I just pop the top and look at it.

My wick life depends on the juice I use the build and the wattage.... some combinations give me less than 1 day per wick to the month my wife gets. To everything in between.... but most of the time I get 2 to 3 day before I need to rewick....... and I will get bored with a build after a week or so anyway. So even if I have a wick that last longer I'm likely to change it anyway.

I put a fused clapton single coil on mine.. dia 3 mm 0.38 ohm running on 30 watts on my Asmodus Minikin.. no leaking.. tons of flavour... 2nd day though
