Alright, 8 days into usage of my Volcano (blu, l88b, whatever) I am having an issue with one of my batteries. It is most likely my fault but if anyone has had a similar experience and found a fix I'd be thrilled.

The problem is that for an entire evening I couldn't get one of my batteries to function at all. The LED would come on (simply because of airflow throught he battery) but it would not power my atomizer. I didn't hear my atomizer turn on and I had no vapor. My atomizer is audible when powered on and working correctly, held directly next to your ear before it cuts off.

I found a "sorta working" solution this morning however I can't see myself wanting to deal with this, especially in public. Unscrewing it the tiniest amount so only a thick piece of paper could fit between the edge of my battery and atomizer seems to allow vapor production again. In the last 10 minutes it has not been consistent and three times I've had to puff over and over while adjusting the amount the battery is screwed on until I find the "sweet spot".

I assume this is my fault because I have a tendency to tighten my batteries on pretty dang tight. Would this be a reasonable assumption?

Okay, the first battery that wasn't working screwed into the atomizer now will not take a charge presumable because it cannot create a good circuit with the charger contact points. I tried my USB charger as well as my PCC. The USB showed no change in the LED at all, but the PCC light kinda flickered anytime it was screwed in. Usually it will come on solid and blink very slowly after the battery is done. The LED on the tip of the battery never turned on. My "okay" battery is currently charging on the USB charger with no problems.

This is aggravating. 8 days in and it already needs serious cleaning to maintain functionality?

PS- I did clean the threads on both batteries, the atomizer, and the USB charger (what I could reach in there).

I had the same problem - caused by overscrewing into the pack.
I now get it to charge (usb charger only - doesn't work in pack anymore) by screwing in til contact is made then gently pulin back (as if I were going to pull battery out without unscrewing), contary to what you would expect this allows the battery to charge successfully. Sometimes have to do that pull back action a couple of times to get it charging. It will then also work with the atty as long as you don't screw it on too tight. Have to do this everytime I charge that battery. Don't know why this works, but it does for me, YMMV.

You can also use other atomizers on the l88b to test whether a different model would suit you better.

Need an adaptor from altsmoke to test the last 3 - there are probably more that would fit but these are the only one's I've personally used on L88b. I prefer the 510 atty when using the L88b. Don't try an 801 atty on the L88b it draws way more current than the battery can provide.

Thank you so much for the reply. My friend got his SideSho in and was nice enough to let me trade $5 worth of carts for an atomizer. The "good" battery works perfectly normal with the SideSho atomizer, and actually seems to last longer and produce more vapor. The battery life could just be in my head though. The second battery will not work even if I back it off. It may be dead and I will try your charging procedure carefully to see if I can use it for a backup.
Thanks again!:thumb:
