labeling filled blanks?

I'm wondering how others label or identify their blank carts after filling them. Currently I have 7 carts filled with different flavors. I originally marked them with a sharpie but that didn't last long, it ran when I refilled it. Then I tried using the sharpie and covering it with a piece of tape. Only 2 smeared that time.

I'm open for suggestions on this. I'm using a mix of blanks from v2 and some stainless steel 510s.

I know a lot of people use label makers. I just use blank labels that are made for running through a printer. The ones I have are about 1/2 inch x 1-3/4 inch, I believe. I think they're Avery. I just write on 'em with a pen. Some people use different colored rubber bands. I've seen different colored caps sold as well. Or even buying different colored carts or cartos for different flavors.

I know just what u mean about the sharpies. I did the same thing with the same result lol. We live and learn don't we.

I don't label them. That way it's always a surprise which flavor I get. Free fun!

I was using the little round dot stickers in different colors that I got from work but after awhile they paper starts to fray and wear off and just looks crappy. I been meaning to look around for some vinyl or plastic dots that will last. Ive also found that electrical tape and a permanent marker works and holds up pretty well.

Just found these, I think they will work well. Since their transparent there obviously not paper so they should hold up. These are nice b/c their different colors plus you can label them. They also stay stuck on but you can easily pull em off without leaving a bunch of sticky crap!

For a time I used a bag of multi coloured elastics. Take them off while using but for ones that aren't currently in use it is a good quick fix.

If your not running too hot you can leave them on but I was in the habit of taking them off.

If I have several that I need to track, I use the very small dental rubber bands. They come in a wide range of colors and are inexpensive and reusable.

I keep them rubber-banded to their bottles at home. If I go out I just recognize them by smell or grab a random one for a surprise.

I have my tanks loaded most of the time and I use different colored tips because I can't think of anything better right now. Red for cinnamon, Blue for mint and silver for Brandied apple.

I just end up with some surprise blueberrypepperminticecreamcola flavor after I have refilled about a billion times and can't really id the scent. Really, with names like pinkspot, benandherrys, ry4, etc... I finally got tired of it and am using 3 different colored cartos from V4L and using pink for peppermint, gold for Ry4, and silver for V4L Jammin. I don't know what I am going to do with all of these other bottles of different flavored juices!!!

An engraver is a very handy thing to have anyway, and is an excellent way to mark all of your stuff in case it gets stolen. I think you could get one for around $15; worth every penny.

When I was playing with many flavors at a time, I used a bunch of the little plastic boxes that hold 4 or 6 AA batteries.
I put sticky labels on the top and wrote the flavors on the label. Each carto had it's own spot in the box.
When I added or deleted a flavor, I just put a new label on the box.
For a time, I had a stack of those boxes in front of me, separated into categories like tobacco, fruit, dessert, etc.
They're a great fit for regular length cartos, but the XL's are just a tad too long.

Just about any hardware store has them. A lot of hobby shops do as well. I have a Dremel tool and there's an engraving tip available for it. A small Dremel kit doesn't really cost that much more than the dedicated engravers I've seen, but it has a whole lot more uses.

I just looked on Amazon, and there are pages of them. Or EBay, or any good hardware store. This one from Dremel looks nice, with good reviews:

Mine I've had forever, and it's a Sears 9-42960, so i don't know who really makes it, but it's lasted forever. I think the main thing is just to get one; they're probably all OK.

I have found it easiest by using different colored drip tips.

I also do this because it seems the flavors of certain juices stick in the drip tip, so if you keep the colored drip tip with the same flavor then you don't have any cross-flavoring.

But I'm nerdy like that.

That is a hell of a good point about the juice being on the tip anyway; I might just try out your method (although i do like the look of my silver tip with black battery).

And nerds will someday rule the world, if they don't already.

I use a Sharpie but just label the cap, not the actual blank. It never smears because it never gets wet.

I've found that paint markers work very well for this as long as you don't need more than a few colors
