Hey, first time poster here and I hope I read all the rules. I recently started with Smokeless Image's standard 78mm auto and manual batteries and started getting new e liquids and a clearomizer. I've significantly cut my cigarette usage with it, but I'm starting to not feel satisfaction from the vapor production of my equipment. I've watched videos and seen other people vaping, and they all seem to produce a lot more vapor than I can.

I started taking very long, slow drags letting the vapor collect in my mouth and that seems to be working better. Is it true I don't need to inhale into my lungs for the nicotine hit? I'm wondering if an upgrade to a larger model with a bigger battery would help. Besides battery life, are there any other big benefits of a larger model?

Hi & Welcome to ECF!

I do believe with larger more powerful models you do get more vapor and throat hit satisfaction, but with that said, even on those models, which ever kind you have vapor output over time is reduced. Its best to clean your equipment often, depending on how much you vape, also coils or cartos may need to be replaced completely. Also rechargeable batteries can "loose" their battery capacity with useage after time. Possibly if you try these options and still not happy with vapor ouput maybe its the e-juice your using. As they age they can change, usually improve in time but not alwasys. I's trial and error mostly. Try finding out how to clean your PV properly first and start from there! Good luck! :vapor:

Welcome!

It's true that your larger devices, especially variable voltage, will give you more vapor, and more throat hit depending on your setup. Battery life on a larger device will usually increase, but as stated above, all rechargeable batteries degrade over time.

I went from a Blu, to an eGo, to a Lavatube, to a groove, to a Lavatube v2, and now I'm on a Smoktech SID. The convenience of the eGo was its huge plus, as its still very portable.

As for inhaling, yes, your mouth does absorb some nicotine. However, I feel that I get more when I inhale into my lungs. I don't find myself needing to inhale deeply, as I did with analogs.

automatic batteries are not really known for good vapor or th, to much control restrictions on those. maybe you should go to lakewood and check out vaporium to see other models, might give you good ideas. Not sure if they opened new store in fife yet. also saw vape store near seatac mall (east side) but have not been inside yet

Several things come to mind.

1. A Volt is supposed to be 3.7v. It doesn't matter if you get a bigger batt that still fires at 3.7v. It's only a matter of time between charges.
2. I never got much from an auto...manuals IMHO are just better.
3. If your battery is say 4 months old, and you use it twice per day, that's 240 charging cycles...you may be at the end of it's 300 cycle life expectancy.
4. If you are using Volt cartos which are 3.0 ohms, you might prefer a carto or other device at 2.0-2.4 ohms. It will be hotter with more vapor.
5 Try a small clearo like an E-smart or T4 (Halo sells them as the g6 mini tank). These work pretty well on the Volts.

Just my rambling thoughts.

Could you possibly explain what prompted the changes and what you liked or didn't like about particular ones? It seems like you've tried a lot of different models.

To everyone else, thank you for the responses. I noticed many commented on the automatic, but I'm noticing it difficult to get good vapor production from the manual, although it is better than the automatic. I'm not sure if heavy use has already worn the manual out. I'd like to get something that has a changeable battery, since I don't want to burn through units so quickly.

Hey, burnee_redwagon, welcome to ECF.

I started on Smokeless Image Volts, too. It didn't take me long to figure out that I would have to move up to bigger batteries and better juice delivery attachments if I wanted a more satisfactory vape. The cigalikes that you are using can get you off of the smokes, but if you are going to be into vaping for the long term, you'll move on from those. There's a reason why most of the people here are either using eGo batteries or the even more advanced personal vaporizers (mods).

Take flashlights as an anology. You can have a tiny penlight flashlight (cigalike) and compare it to a multibeam LED flashlight (mod). The bigger flashlight is going to perfom better with a brighter light and last longer than that tiny penlight model. In the world of batteries, bigger is better.

You could move up within the same company you are dealing with (Smokeless Image) and get one or two of their Volt Spinners. They are the same variable voltage battery as the eGo Vision Spinners, but with 808 threading that Smokeless Image prefers and the SI branding. Also try one of their T2 clearomizers for a different juice delivery device.

Or, you can do what I did. I went with Smokeless Image's friend, AltSmoke. I got a BB and a Silver Bullet mod. This allowed me to explore bigger and better juice delivery devices and use replaceable, rechargeable batteries. Cartotanks became my preferred delivery device.

I've since advanced on to mods like a Provari and delivery devices like RBAs in addition to the dependable cartotanks. You don't have to keep advancing if you find a satisfying spot along the way. Whatever works for you, that's good enough.

The main reason to get a bigger mod is the increased battery life and juice carrying capacity. Higher vg juice will also give you more vapour. You also have a lot more control over the things that affect your vape, from different tanks and atomisers to the batteries you use.

My criteria is something i can take to work that will last me all day without desperately looking for every USB port in sight to recharge it.

Try a few different juices because the way they vape in your device is, for me, a crucial factor in my satisfaction.

@Baditude

Thanks for the great explanation. I've been checking out the forums and various reviews, and I found the ego Twist and the Nova tank to be the most appealing. I don't really have enough money for something more expensive like a mod.

Now, I see different ego Twist batteries for sale, and some of the kits seem to be more expensive. Is there a reputable website where I could pick up a Twist and a Nova tank? Do I have to be separate atomizers? I'm not quite sure how interchangable atomizers work.

My Vapor Store usually has the best price for an eGo Spinner/Twist starter kit. You get to choose which battery and which atomizer to use; mix and match how you wish. Two batteries, charger, two delivery devices of your choice for $70.

Yup, MVS was where I steped into my Spinners... awesome customer service too... they forgot one of the clearos I ordered with it (not part of the kit, just an extra), emailed them, and one of the SC reps actually called me back within maybe 30m to say that they were super sorry, and asked if I wanted a credit, or to send the device. I went for the clearo, got it va free expedited delivery and they even included some heads for it free (was an Evod)

Some of their prices are high on some things, but I prefer to pay a little bit more here and there for a bit of piece of mind. :)
