From what I can see you're using a Volt Spinner VV 3.3- 4.8 volts so voltage isn't the problem. What mg level are you vaping? Usually chain vaping indicates the need for a higher nic level. A friend had the same issue and he resolved it by switching to a Reo Bottom Feeder- drip from a bottle directly on to an atty with very strong and flavorful hits. Reos aren't cheap but they are quality built and have a HUGE and loyal following. Or you could consider a PV that fires higher than 4.8 volts.
As for your other ideas. the older original "tank" system/ cartridge+ atty is prone to leakage- do a search and you find many complaints. As for the eGo realize they only fire at 3.4 volts so in fact voltage wise they'd be a step down.
ERoll...batts are 90 mah and if you're a chain vaper they'd drain quickly. To counter the low mah and small cartridge many ERoll users are upping their mg significantly while using it.

Hey guys. I've been vaping for a good few months now and the I'm STILL looking for the perfect set up. Here's what I've tried.

V4L Auto/Manual slim batteries + V4L Cartomizers.

Smokeless Image Auto Slim batteries + X2 auto/manual and the new Volt Spinner VV battery. I've used every carto/clearo/tank that they have.

Green Smoke starter kit.

What I'm currently vaping on is my collection of Smokeless Image stuff. X2 Auto / Volt Spinner Manual VV used with T3 Clearo

My problem: I'm a chain vaper. I'm usually sitting at my computer and I vape damn near constantly (I take a hit every 30secs all the way up to 10mins). As I vape I seem to get less and less throat hit and my clearos seem to burn out to fast. I dont sit there and constantly hit it or burn a 5-10 sec hit on a manual battery. I do give it time to wick. One of the issues I'm having is that even after a few minutes of not taking a hit my clearo will taste burnt as were the hit before was just fine. Or one hit will give good vapor and then the next one gives very little. As far as my slim style ecigs go, my cartos seem to do nothing for me and its like vaping air. Also I forgot to mention. All of my juice is from smokeless image and is 24mg.

So I'm thinking i need to go and buy a new set up. My experience so far has been with all KR808 stuff and I'm thinking maybe i should try 510 out? I really like the slim cigarette style models so I'd like a good one of those. I havent smoked in 3 years and even still i miss the motions of and the ease of use of a regular cig. Prefer not to have to fiddle with buttons or big honking clearos or tanks. I dont mind refilling cartos at all. I just want something that makes me happy.

Sorry guys I'm thinking i wasnt very clear in describing the problem him having. VOltage and throat hit arent really the probem nor is how long the batteries last. I have multiple batteries and dont mind swapping out as they need to charge and i dont mind refilling tanks and such so their ml cap doesnt bother me either.

The issue Im having is more with me chain vaping and buring out all of my carto's/clearos. Nothing I have wicks fast enough for how often I can take hits sometimes. My throat his seems to degrade as I vape and its not due to nic lvl because I'm doin 24mg. I think its mainly because w/e device im vaping hasnt rewicked completely and therefor causing lower TH and helping to burn it out. I tell ya what would be the perfect thing for me was if the damn SI bottom coil CE3s would wick better. I decided to slap one of those on one of my slim auto batts today and man the flavor and TH is epic and so is the amount of vapor im getting. Far better performance than anything else ive tried.

The issue with those is that I almost have to remove it from teh batt after every hit, place my finger and on the battery end and give it a puff to help it wick or the next hit will be dry/burnt. That is such a pain to have to go through to get good performance.

So right now Im considering the Ego-C and an eRoll for backup and to have an auto cig style. Everything I've seen/read about these seem like they are really good and Joyetech seems like a good quality company.

Try a Kanger T3 or EVOD and thinner juice (70 or 80 PG). I can hit mine every other breathe several times in a row and not get a dry hit.

Or if you want to try something that isn't a clearomizer, get a carto tank and make sure the holes are big enough to keep up but not flood.

Thanks guys for more responses and input.

I hate to keep shutting yalls alternatives down but here are my thoughts:

1) Mods - I dont want to vape on a "box" or something the size of a pistol silencer (sorry).

2) Carto-tanks - Ive used these before and I just didnt care for them too much. The ones I used were from V4L.

3) PG/VG Ratio - All of my juice atm is from SI and its 80/20 so I dont think thats the issue.

4) T3 - I have 3 of these, although they are the version from SI I'd assume that they are about the same thing. While I like the cheaper option for replacement heads, I have mixed feelings about these because the draw is too airy and it seems like i have to work to hard to get a good hit. However hilariously enough, if I plug a hole on them they work geat on the X2 auto batteries. Better than the Volt Spinner at 3.8v. I just feel like the coil heads burn out too fast.

Again sorry to shoot down the options yall are giving me. I've just used a good variety of things so far and am kinda picky about the presentation of the battery itself (silly I know, but again, batteries and voltage havent been a complaint thus far.) Hopefully this will narrow things down a bit more and you'll be able to recommend other things you guys have tried.

Other things im lookin at. I'm really intrigued by all the different things available for 510 slim batteries (everything I have atm is KR808) Even though ive used ego styles extensively i still really prefer the slim style just because its more like smoking an analog.

Have you tried the SI nano clearomizer? Dual coil carto? Your options are very limited in the cig-a-like form factor, especially if you like to chain vape. Most of the devices that have a chance of keeping up are all at least ego sized.

The SI nano's are probably the worst thing I tried. They are extremely fragile and they wick slower than anything I've ever used. They are essentially tiny carto tanks w/o being able to replace the carto. They look super nice on your battery though.

I'm not limited to using only cig-a-likes. i just like them best. Id like to find the best cig style PV that i can AND have a good ego set up. I just want a reliable tank system that gives me good vapor and does not take ages to rewick. Also something that has a bit of life span.

For the price and adjustability - especially for a beginner to intermediate vaper - you can't beat the eGo-C Twist. You'll get over your attachment to cig-a-likes after using one for a while. The eGo-C tanks are complete garbage, though, so just get yourself the Twist battery (maybe a couple so you always have one charged) and a carto tank to keep up with your chain vaping.

Hmmm... It's strange that everything is wicking too slow for you. Did you try removing one of the flavor wicks from the T3? I'm not sure what else is out there that wicks better. A bottom coil clearo or dct should be the solution. You may want to ask the question outside the new members area.

Have the eroll. Really like it for portability. However, it doesn't work as a chain vape device. It works if you go high nic and use it like a cigarette - hit it for 5 minutes put it away for 10. It will last all day like that.

Chain vaping your battery just wont keep up after a while. It isn't designed for that. Even with multiple batteries you would have to work too hard keeping things charged as they only charge with the PCC and the PCC doesn't charge fast enough to allow you to swap batteries in and out over a whole day.

If you really want a cig style battery for chain vaping, you should get one you can screw into a standard 510 charger.

For sitting at home chain vaping, a 18650 mod with an RBA and tank is the way to go.

Just my experience.

Why do you think the ego-c tanks are garbage? im looking to replace every but of my current stuff with 3 kits. Ego-c, eCab and eRoll. The reason for this is it would give me 3 different systems (1 manual cig style, one auto and then another ego set up.) My reason for wanting to get these 3 is that they all use the same atomizer head. Ive never used an atomizer system before and from what ive been reading about them it sounds promising. I really like that all 3 of my kits would use the same head so i wouldnt need a bunch of other accessories or need to worry about what fits on what and w/e.

I'm new, and this might not be the smartest beginners posts. However, I fail to see how battery mods will help with wicking and giving steady, fulfilling flavor and hits. Upping voltage means lowering oHm, resulting in same heat generation, no? I'm asking, not lecturing :)

One week into vaping, I've tried various CE clearos and is currently using a Vivi Nova 2.5 on either a 900mAh Ego battery, 1000mAh Ego Twist or an USB passthrough. Power source seem to make little difference. My issues is with lack of wicking (CE), vacuum build-up (Vivi) leading to "hard pulls", and losing flavor/vapor production after just a handful of hits. Makes it hard not wanting a proper cig when I can't get a good 5-10 minutes worth of maintenance-free vaping.

Needless to say, I'm also looking for The Holy Grail. Got the Smok Tech DCT and some Kanger MT3s coming. Hopefully they'll suffice. I'm perfectly fine with the Ego form factor... thus far.

Welcome WattWick and congrats for switching from cancer sticks to vaping hehe. The deal with voltage is, the higher voltage will result in a "better" burn of the liquid which leads to a stronger throat hit and more full flavor. Lower the ohms just means it will handle the higher voltage better.

An electrical engineer put it to me like this when i 1st learned what ohms was (when i was heavy into a guitar and was looking at high end stack amps) think of electricity as water and the ohms as the pipe it travels through. The more water volume you have passing through you'll need a pipe that can handle the increased volume, but regardless you'll have increased water pressure. Might be a little bit of a lame analogy but it think it gives you a good idea.

And yeah ive had the same experiences with CEs and the vivi nova. You get great hits for a bit but then something goes wrong. In the way of CEs the air bubbles get trapped and they dont wick. With any number of clearo/tank (vivi nova included) they end up flooding and you have to blow though it/take it apart and clean it which gets messy. Having to do maintenance every so often is fine but once every hour is a hassle.

The reason im looking at the ego-c tank system (and its the same system for the eCab and eRoll) is that the cartridge has no filler material or heating element. it just holds juice, and the atomizer head injects into the cart and accepts the juice and burns it within itself. If something goes wrong with it you simply just need to remove the atomizer head and clean/replace it and you're good to go again. Also if i want to the ego-c will take any number of 510 threaded accessories so i'll have the option to use other things if i need to. Including the 2 vivi novas that i still own.

Also WattWick, the reason why i think its a good idea to have a diff kit style or 2 extra is that if you are having problems with your ego battery or a tank/clearo that you're vaping on it... Having a different type of thing to vape can give you a break from having to deal with the problem for a bit. If you just have one system and you get angry at it and dont feel like messing with it, you may be inclined to turn to an analog until you solve your problem. I know ive had those thoughts as well and its been 3 years since my last cigarette. So I keep a small cigarette style PV with regular cartomizers handy for when i do go frustrated with my main PV. It may not be as strong a throat hit or vapor but it least it keeps you away from analogs until you sort your issue out.

You are right. The battery has nothing to do with wicking. However, bigger batteries are able to sustain higher current draws which will keep the coil firing hot without any dropoff. For the normal wattage that most people use (6-8 W), a standard ego should handle this just fine. Heat and effectiveness of your atomizer is mostly determined by the wattage it consumes, which is voltage squared divided by resistance. So as you decrease ohms, you can decrease volts and get the same watts. Same goes for increasing both of them. But voltage's influence is exponential while resistance's is linear.

Your new equipment should work just fine. You may have to fiddle with the carto holes, or the MT3 wicks, but they both can be made to work amazingly.

Thanks for the welcome and explanation. I'm just a bit puzzled as what we're chasing really is heat which is a result of wattage (volt*amps) passing through resistance. Don't want to come off as a smart-... tho. I'm no expert on this. Just trying to puzzle together the pieces I think I know. For some reason I think VV makes no sense since we (or I) don't know the amperage put out by the batteries, but VW does :)

I'll be looking more into the ego-c tank system also. Getting rid of the wicks or fillers would make a better vape, I believe. Tho, somehow I got the idea that kind of tank system won't hold a lot of juice and would require constant re-filling?

Since my last post I've shortened the wicks on my Vivi Nova to great effect. I've also gotten used to slightly unscrewing the top cap to de-pressurize tank when it's getting hard to drag. Some times it got so bad that vapor was getting sucked back into the tank
