they're both great books!!! I'm impressed that you could put one down to pick up the other- and really envious that you can read at work!

(I have two going right now- mostly because i had had to shut the e-book down for take off and landing when i was traveling, and the paper back book isn't quite as good)

I know I've read everything Grisham has written....he can't write fast enough for me! lol! And I've about read everything Patterson has written, so he better start writing faster, I'm working on Baldacci, to give the others some time..lol! And Stephen King I read occassionally..."Pet Cemetary, Under the Dome"...he can get kinda weird sometimes, and I'm not always in a weird mood. lol!

Kay, I think Patterson puts a book out about every two weeks- i don't think he can write faster :laugh:I like the authors you listed plus a fair amount of Sci fi, There are some women mystery writers with good characters, Kate Wilhelm, Sue Grafton, Martha Grimes, Charlaine Harris, Dana Stabenow....

You're actually reading literature Kumquat, nice! I usually just want mind candy

Yeah, I tend to prefer literature. But I do read the Sue Grafton books when they come out every 2.5 years or whatever and I've got a soft spot for old detective noir. If you're avoiding "literature" because of an attention span thing, I'd highly recommend checking out Tin House which is a quarterly journal full of fun short fiction, essays, poetry, reviews, interviews and it's generally very good quality stuff.
