I pulled out a laser pointer mod that I made a couple of years ago to use as a backup to my eGo--which I may have killed. I charged the batteries. I put one in the laser pointer, screwed the 901 atty onto it, and hit the button. Nothing...then, I checked to see if any voltage was getting to the connector (took off the atty and checked with voltmeter). It registered 3.7volts at the center post of the connector.

Then I checked the atty's resistance and it was fine.

I cannot figure out (there must be some connection not occurring between the atty and the battery connector. Any common ideas?

Laser Pointer??????

Just kidding.

I checked to see if any voltage was getting to the connector (took off the atty and checked with voltmeter). It registered 3.7volts
Well that is the right thing to check, but a fully charged cell should do better than 3.7V in an unfettered mod. That's a bit worrisome.

Then I checked the atty's resistance and it was fine.
Assuming the atty works there can be only possible cause left, the center pins aren't making good contact.

As an old timer you could try the staple mod trick, or try to carefully ease out (extend) one of the center posts. I'd opt for the atty's first.
