If you are looking for a Halo juice that tastes like an analog, try Torque 56. It is SO good in that respect. Drop some menthol into it if you smoked menthols. I highly recommend this.

With tobacco flavors, I find that the standard coils work the best for me. Hotter is better, it seems. {2.2-2.4 ohms}

Don't forget to pick up an extra USB charger for your batteries soon. If something happens to your lone charger, how will you vape? ;)

You have found the right place for help regarding Halo stuff and things. Welcome!

Well...after much deliberation I think I know what initial additions I'll make in an order tonight so that hopefully it gets processed tomorrow (Oh and the reason i got 5 packs of coils was b/c I was able to get em for $40 which I thought was pretty good!). On to what I think I'll pick up as extra:

1 x VV Battery
5 x Tanks
1 x Tribeca 24 mg nicotine (just in case the 18 doesn't do the job and so I can try it out)
1 x USB Charger

After initial impressions of the liquids and determining what is suitable for me as far as tastes, I'll proceed to make 1 more purchase of just liquids sometime next week. That SHOULD wrap up everything I need to get started and will just tweak things as needed along the way.

So....this is what my total beginning set should look like:

2 x 650 mAh Batteries (all black b/c I think it's sharp looking)
2 x 900 mAh VV Batteries (again b/c of how awesome it looks in black)
8 x Tritan Clear/Cloudy Tanks (4 of each color just for change up)
5 x Packs of 2.2-2.4 Ω coils
1 x Wall Chargers
2 x USB Chargers
1 x Large Cone (Just comes with the kit)
1 x Gourmet Hodge Podge 18 mg nicotine
1 x 7ml Turkish Tobacco 18 mg nicotine
1 x 7ml Tribeca 18 mg nicotine
1 x 7ml Tribeca 24 mg nicotine
1 x Nasty Bottle of Taaka Vodka for cleaning yuuuuuuuuuuck!

Anyways, that should do it for what I have planned initially. I'm gonna wait around a little bit tonight before I order the rest just in case you all have any additional suggestions. Questions? Comments? Derogatory remarks? ;)

A good french vanilla sounds really good. I have a vanilla custard that I really like.

I am about 1 1/2 hours north of Tuscaloosa. I have a friend that plays volleyball for Mississippi State she is really good!!

Yup Yup that's where I am! Teaching and finish up my final *fingers crossed* degree. Also thanks for the additional steeping tips, I'll be sure to follow all the advice. I'll probably end up asking a ton more questions though :p

Oh, one more thing: vaping can dehydrate us, so always have water handy. Your'e gonna need it!

Thanks JohnnyDill! AmandaD mentioned that too and so did everyone else too so that's another note added to the "Noob Guide to Vaping" that I'll pencil in. Really, so much great advice today, I'm beginning to feel almost not a noob ha.

Hi Doc! Everyone has already given you great advice, so I just wanted to say HI and .. Welcome Fellow Halon! I was hoping you would make your way over here~
I have only been at it about 6 weeks now, so I am no expert. I love the Triton and have had no problems with the equipment at all. My best advice is to have a few extra tanks so you can have a variety in juices ready to go. The hardest part for me was finding juice flavors that I liked. Taste is very subjective and, as they say, "to each his own". Without a few juices that you like, you will feel like you have given up something by giving up cigarettes - that can lead you right back to your old habits. In general I have found that you get what you pay for when it comes to juice. Allow a little extra money at the beginning to find the flavors that help you to feel that you have not sacrificed anything. In fact, when you find the right flavors you will enjoy it MORE than smoking. In truth, when I smoked I really only "enjoyed" a few cigarettes a day (first thing in the morning, after a meal, etc) and now that I look back on it the rest of them tasted pretty bad and smelled even worse! Without juices you love, that shiny new Triton is like having a Lamborghini in the driveway but no keys to even take it for a spin around the block. So don't get frustrated, just keep trying.

My other advice would be to read through the forums in your free time. You will be surprised what you will learn and this is a really great place to get a TON of information fast. Also, go over to youtube and just type "Halo Triton" or "vape" into the search bar. There are videos on cleaning tanks, reviews on the different equipment and even videos on how to vape. I coughed my head off the first few days because I was hitting the Triton like a cigarette. Don't do that! Drink lots of water and - as Dave Ono told me - PUT IT DOWN ONCE IN A WHILE!

I hope your Triton gets to you fast with all the bad weather - I felt like a kid on Christmas morning waiting for the mailman to bring mine. I bet I checked the tracking info 50 times! Let us know what you think when you get it and everyone here is willing to help you any way we can - so just ask all your questions and someone will be right along with an answer for you-
GOOD LUCK!
Malinda

New standing ECF coupon code for our valued ECF customers! ECFTEN2014 is now up and running! ECFTEN2014 is valid for 10% off e-liquid or sample packs. ECFTEN is no longer valid. Please feel free to share around the forum and thank you all again for your support!

Use this code to get 10% off juices. And yes that list is an awesome start!!!

And your tanks and coils can be cleaned with plain hot water, cheapo dental tablets non-mint, vodka or an ultrasonic cleaner. All your choice and what you like. You just have to let the coils dry out overnight.

And like Nanny22 said read read read there is alot of info here and craziness which reminds me we have been "on-topic" for several pages. I think this may be a record for us! :w00t::D

Thank you for you input Malinda! I really liked the analogy to the Lambo, made me chuckle but also made perfect sense. I of course started off just picking through threads and posting questions and stuff in the noob forum before I was basically herded over here which in turn just made me all the wiser b/c of how active the Halo sub forum is and how knowledgeable everyone is. I'm starting off with like 8ish different flavors I think and just gonna try stuff out and I'm shelling out the extra dough like you suggested. I figured that would be the case from the start and so like you and others have mentioned. The hard part will be finding which "gas" works best for my "car" but I'm confident that I'll figure it out within a couple weeks. Over the weekend, I'm gonna review some of those vids to learn a bit more on how to properly vape and what not. Got plenty of water on stand by as well for next week :D

Here Here! I'll get the thread heading off on another tangent by stating that when I first saw the brand name I wasn't thinking anything angelic at all, in fact I thought it was an awesome name b/c it reminded me of the early 2000's playing Halo:CE with friends linking up several xbox's and playing all night. ahhhh fond memories.

Just got my internet back!! And I had forgotten to give you the secret 10% off code, but I see Evie gave it to you.

I hope you meant one 5-pack of coils. With 3 or 4 tanks, plus the 5-pack, you should be set for a while with coils.

And not sure about your french vanilla quest. CafeDigitalDiva (and others) absolutely swear by creme brulee by a company called nicoticket.
And I see they just came out with Frenilla. Sounds like that might be your lube! But they warn it might take a while to age. (or steep)

(It is frowned upon to link to a competitor's site from a Halo thread. (We can talk about it, and we are using Halo gear to imbibe!)

Yuuuup! That was 2001-2003 halo for me and prior to that it GoldenEye! But yeah, I do like to play around with things. It starts off basically with me loving something and then after a while I wanna know more about it, and then for some reason or another I will start a side project where I'll play around trying to see if I can make improvements in any way all the while still using the product as intended with others. But gotta be different as usual lol

Welcome to the vaping world, Doc! Congratulatios on your due dilligence and asking for help. The people here are really great and won't steer you wrong. Very good choices by the way.

Here's my story.

A coworker of my girlfriend suggested I try Halo. I looked into it, asked questions, and was quite impressed with what I heard. I still had my doubts that I would like it, so I went with the G6 instead of the Triton. Well, I like it a lot and have been off the analogs since the G6 starter kit arrived. I now wish I had ordered the Triton, but I am making due until I can afford to upgrade.

I picked up both the gourmet and tobacco starter packs and a bunch of mini tanks. That was the best decision I made. I found a bunch of flavors I liked, and a bunch I didn't. the best thing I can suggest is to get both samples and try them all for yourself. You'll never know otherwise. Oh, and the different color tanks are great for identifying what's in what. Just write the tank color on the cap of the bottle with a sharpie.

Personally, I really liked Tribeca, Prime, and Longhorn from the tobacco pack and Malibu, Shamrock, Kringle's Curse, and Belgian Cocoa from the gourmet pack. I'll be ordering a lot more of all of those in the future.

I used to be a pack a day smoker of Winston Ultra Lights and I find the 12 mg levels to be almost right, maybe just a bit low. I find myself going through around 2 ml a day, vaping at work and at home.

So keep it up, keep asking questions, and happy vaping!

Yeah I like hearing interesting things about what people have come across, but I probably won't really get into for at least a few months, but once I do I'm sure I'll have various stories to tell about the good, the bad and the downright ugly
