I got a bone white Lavabox a while back and have been perfectly happy with it except for one thing: the paint. It looks cheap. There are spots at the top of the mod where excess the paint ran and dried that way, and after only a month or so it's starting to flake off pretty badly. I thought that was just the way it was supposed to be until I went into a local vape shop today and looked at the ones they had in there. It didn't even look like paint, they were powder coated or something. Much nicer than mine. Granted they only had the black and blood red versions, so I thought maybe they used a different process on the white ones. I still can't help but wonder if I paid $160 for a cheap knockoff. It works with escribe, so I assume that means that the chip is authentic at least. It works like it's supposed to so I can't complain too much, I was just wondering if anyone could shed some light on the subject.

If the chip works with escribe I highly doubt you have a clone. It would make no sense to put an authentic chip in a clone box. The cost would be too high.

I have the Black and Blood Red and my paint is great. I bought mine directly from Volcano and am very happy with them. If you have any doubts about it's authenticity I would contact them and see if they have a way to tell. Also if your paint is bad, maybe they will do something about it (assuming it's authentic).
