I loved my lavatube 2.5. Longer bat life than the Vamo and just all around busty good mod. Dropped a few times from various heights ( cab of a loader) and solid as a champ. Only down side was the threading. I knew I should have cleaned up the threads or added some graphite spray but just never got around to it. Well the faithful ( or unfaithful) day came when I was swapping batteries and I couldnt unscrew it to get my new battery out. Tried as I could with various tools ( not trying to mess up the finish, buttons etc) nothing would make her budge. I went back to my local vape shop and they contacted Volcano and I was up the creek without a paddle. Ive only had the thing for a few months and the insides were still good plus I wanted my battery..... Badly...Soooooooooo

Now as a warning please dont do this unless you have testicular/intestinal fortitude and a fire extinguisher and other helpful safety items. Most importantly if you have worked with these types of batteries before. Ive had a few lipos blow on me while tinkering with R/C cars so the shock value is gone. Side note my eyebrows are growing back in nicely.
I knew there was a spring on the bottom negative connection I just didnt know how much the spring was compressed. So I put a small allen wrench through the bottom vent holes to see how far away the battery was so I didnt blow my face off when I cut the bottom off. (First Dimple from the bottom for all you lavatube 2.5 owners is a safe cutting zone) Once I had the battery out it was all gravy baby. I didnt know how the tube was constructed so I took it slow with a hack saw ( dremel was too loud hot and messy) not to damage anything.
Pretty impressed at the thickness.

The insides are incased in a plastic tube. Which is great for the installation and protection of the components but its also has an adhesive to it =\

I sawed off the top next to get at the 510 connector.

and then pried it open a lil.

Thats as far as I got. I have other pressing matters to attend to otherwise I would have fully finished but I didnt feel like rushing. I need the insides nice and safe so I can make a new mod!!!! Ill keep ya posted. I dont expect much attention to this thread I just wanted to share if other Lavatube 2.5 owners had this happen to them and they were thinking about it.
