I am sorry for my very stupid question and thank you for taking your time to read the question as well.

I have a LavaTube and I believe it is an older version (if it matters). However, I am not sure which battery it uses. 18490? 18500? or 18650? and is it a Button Top or Flat Top?

I also was wondering if the battery from ProVape can be used for the LavaTube?

Thank you!!!

I'm sure gthompson is right it has to be bottom top on these. 18650 for regular and 18350 for mini. I use AW IMR batts and a 2¢vape safe for added protection.

Hello Hurley,
I know you said you use 2 cent vape safe for protection but what does that 2 cent vape safe do or what kind of protection does it provide exactly?

I have a regular LavaTube and are 18650 and 2 cent vape safe going to fit in the LavaTube?

The batts from provape are just AW IMR batteries, there is nothing special about them at all except that they are more expensive than the ones at other online retailers. I would always recommend IMR's and AW's are a great brand.

Thank you for your suggestions, j4mmin42!!!
If you don't mind, could you recommend some good online retailers where they sell IMR's and AW's?

The Lava Tubes, depending on which model, normal or mini, will take pretty much any 18650 or 18350 battery as long as it's a high drain IMR style of battery. Protected batteries are too long. Even with the button tops, the length comes into play regarding whether or not you can fully tighten the end cap. The LTs originally came with flat top batteries.

I use a Lavatube (youngjune version), batteries I got with it are flat top 18650 , but I believe button top will work as well , bottom cap will fit but will leave a gap. Be sure they are IMR high drain.
2 cent protection wont hurt, but I have confirmed that the device has built in protection from having a shorted atty on it one time, the device will disable (turn off) if it has a short and batteries need to be removed and reinserted to reactivate.

AW is one brand- IMR is a special type of Lithium cell with a safer chemistry- they're less likely to catch on fire, lol.

madvapes.com and litecigusa.net have some IMR's, but not AW brand. super t manufacturing has the genuine AW's.

Super T is a very well respected forum vendor. He's got genuine product, great prices, and super cheap shipping. You can't beat him.

He's also been out of stock on the 2000mah 18650 AWs for a LONG time. :)

That means I have to get it fast!!! :)
So would AW IMR 18650 3.7v 2000mAh work perfectly fine?
