Leaking T3S after changing atomizer

Ok, so I got my new T3S today from the UKecigstore, ordered it with a 1.8 atomizer and a 5 pack of 2.2's. Vaped for most of the day on the 1.8 and all was well, little muted flavour but on the whole no dry hits compared to my T2.

When I got home I thought I would try a 2.2 head from the blister pack to see if it was any different to the 1.8, then the leaking started even before I put it on the battery! On closer inspection the 2.2 head, when fitted to the knurled base which screws onto the battery, doesn't fully screw on leaving a minute gap between the knurled base ring and the tank. The 1.8 when fitted is snug. I tried another 2.2 but the same result! Obviously this means the atomizer doesn't fully engage to the air tube leading to leaks.

Anybody else had this? And is there anything I can do? It's frustrating because I've finally found a clearomizer that I really like with a large tank capacity that doesn't give me dry or burnt hits!

I've seen reports that the Protank/Evod coils don't work on the MT3S. Which is tragic, if true. Kanger needs to standardize the coil and go back to the Evod design that everyone seemed to like so much. I have an MT3S that I haven't had to replace the coil for yet. It's been going for weeks on end with a thin, lightly colored liquid.

Make sure the liquid level is above half full. The MT3 was notorious for leaking and gurgling but the release of the MT3S base was supposed to have addressed the issue.

My MT3S systems have never leaked or gurgled as long as the tank had plenty of liquid.

One other tip: Try a long, slow draw on it. Not a short, fast drag like you used to with analogs. Almost all atomizer systems can literally be pumped out by users inadvertently putting too much negative hydrostatic pressure into the tank.

If there is a gap between the head base and the tank, then you got the wrong heads. Those 2.2ohm heads could be for a protank/evod. The T3 tank, the T3S is of this family of Kangers, is like a couple micrometers narrower than a Protank/Evod series. T3S head will work in a Protank/Evod style, being narrower at the bottom flange of the head, it will seal and work, same can not be said about the Protank/Evod heads working in a T3S/MT3S/T3/MT3/Mini T3/Mini MT3.

From my understanding....

MT3S/T3S coils will fit Pro Tanks, Evods and Mini Pro Tanks but....
Pro Tank ect ect ect coils will not fit the T3S. They look like they will but they are slightly different.

I just swapped my 2.4ohm (which was doing fine for weeks) for a 2.2ohm coil. Im sure mine are for the T3S and appear to be genuine. There is a sticker on my blister pack which states Kanger T3S. Mine works fine after the swap. Mine has never gurgled but i do use a qtip or pipe cleaner once a day to remove any condensation.

Thanks for all the advice. Just compared the spare heads to the one the T3S came with and it's slightly different, as said by some of you the flanges just under the wicks are a different size, the one that came with the T3S has a flange slightly smaller than the spare ones, looks like they sent me EVOD ones by mistake!

I've just filled the tank as well (with the original 1.8 head) and the leaking seems to have stopped. So it looks like keeping the tank at least half full has some truth in it. Disappointing though as this defeats the object of a larger tank which is what I want, looks like I may be going back to my 1.6ml aClear DC clearomizer if that's the case, it's reliable and has always been leak free with no dry/burnt hits just a tank that's just a little bit small for what I want!

If the vendor made a mistake, you should contact him/her and request that they send you correct coil heads.

Don't give up on Kanger quite yet. They are in the process of redesigning their heads to make everything replaceable and interchangeable; everybody is confused, including vendors.

I love my ProTank 2 and all the other Kanger BCCs.

Good luck and happy vaping.

They sold you the wrong heads.

That is the difference between the heads for the T3s/MT3s and the ProTank/EVOD. That part that looks like a stainless steel washer right under the wick is larger on the PT/EVOD heads. It can prevent a proper seal if you put the wrong head in the wrong base. The bases are also different in regard to whether that flat washer fits flush into the base - or in your case is too large and overhangs where it is supposed to fit in.

i never keep the tank 1/2 full on Any of my Kanger BCC devices. T3, Evod, MT3's, Protanks(1&2) and PT-minis(1&2) No leaks and can vape dry.
a Small amount of e-liquid may get past coils, Condensation can also built up. If this creates issues. Remove the tank from the battery.Hold tank Tip down, connector UP and blow through Tip to push out any liquid. Clean off connector with tissue and give it a try.

Stock manufacturer Kanger heads I get various problems, from leaking, to gurgling, flooding, even dry burns. I've since learned to fix each type of problem, dealt with one Kanger BCC, dealt with all the problems. Dry burning, is the liquid thicker than 50/50 or 60/40 PG/VG, pop off the chimney, remove a flavor wick, and go again. Oops, guess what, now it floods at 1/2-1/3 a tank left -_-. Vape down a whole Protank of juice, meh, refill, twist open upside down, -_-, bahhh, condensation just oozed onto your fingers. After three tanks, well 2 and a half, gurgle gurgle, -_-, coil is gunked and wick clogged, clean and dry burn it, rinse it, plop in a new head, setting old out to dry and rest. Still had a lot of issues once I moved to rebuilding the heads, and now have swapped from silica and ekowool wicks to cotton wicks ^_^, happy happy days. No leaks, no gurgles other than from condensation build up, wicks like a champ, no flooding, no dry burns no matter the thickness of the liquid, coil gets gunked up, pull out the cotton, dry burn, rewick, refill, let sit a bit, then run and away I go.

Moral of the story, purchase a vaping device, research it before purchase, and learn how to deal with the pros and cons ^_^, this isn't for someone to plug and play and expect it to operate tip top shape 100% of the time, it is still a new venue with a lot of trial and error on everyone's part.
