One other thing....(this is probably not it, but there's a chance. I haven't seen it mentioned.)
When the silicone cap is sitting properly between the head and the top, and you unscrew the top, it CAN unscrew the head a bit. So over time, the head can become loose. This allows juice into the center shaft and floods it even if the cap is in it's proper place. So:
1) Take off top
2) Remove silicone cap. Note flat side and concave side. Flat side goes down toward the head/coil.
3) Tighten head
4) Replace cap with flat of washer toward head.
5) Replace top. Make sure top and plastic tank are screwed down tight enough to get good contact between cap and tank top.
