Okay, so I read through a few threads here on the forum about decreasing dry hits with the Vivi Nova(not mini/not v2.5). They have suggested things like drilling out the slits deeper, modifying the positive plug in the atty and removing strands of wick from the bulk wick.

So I have a 2.4Ω atty and its got 4 wick strands on each side making up the whole wick. I removed one of the wicks because I haven't gotten the stuff to rebuild atty's on my own yet, so I didn't want to take the atty apart and try putting it back together with the short wires it has. So drilling the slits deeper is out right now.

My issue is that now that I have removed that strand of wick, e-liquid is now leaking at an increased rate through the atty and into the main post that runs the middle from the atty to the bottom. And liquid is draining out that way. I set my e-cig down for about 10 minutes to go shower(laid on its side) and came back to a night stand covered in e-liquid, a nearly empty tank and liquid leaking from the area that the battery connects to the tank.

Any suggestions?

I took that little rubber cylinder out of the original drip tip and inserted it into the rubber cylinder that sits on top of the atty and its sitting on top of the metal ring. So thats there.

Can't tell but if it's a Smok Vivi that's prolly the problem. Do you have a link to the vendor that you bought it from?

Edit:
also make sure the head is screwed down tight so the O-Ring will form a good seal with the airway tube. Also make sure the metal piece inside the silicon cap...flat side down towards head and concave side towards drip tip.

Its all flush and sealed. My theory is that the slits that the wicks come out of are now more opened for liquid to go through. The liquid is leaking from the atty into the central tube leading to the battery. Then out the breathing holes. I got it from thevaporbarstore.com. A local e-cig place around here. It came in a vivi nova box. It appears to be real.

Although they don't have the Vision Vivi Nova on their website they sell the Vision Heads so it prolly is a Vision. A "few" friends had the wicking issue and what I did was cut "TINY" V slits in the silicon cap where the wicks entered. Too large and leaking occurs. Have only had this issue in less than 1% of Vivis. Sorry I can't help anymore.

Yes if the opening is too tight dry hits happen. If too open/ loose leaking occurs. Sometimes also to help with dry hits remove drip tip and lift silicon cap up. Could also be the new drip tip is slightly longer and is pushing the silicon cap down too much as per your original problem. Yes I would go back to the store with both drip tips and try a new head for awhile while there. QC is a HUGE problem with this junk from China IMO.

Alright. Swapped out atomizers(head) at the store and all is well. I guess it's just not practical to remove one of the strands of wick to prevent dry hits as I've read in another thread here. Oh we'll. Back to rolling it to keep the coil wet. But the good news is that the vapor bar is going to be getting in a bottom feed tank here as soon as they can order them. It appears that everything is out of stock everywhere.

Does anyone have any advice on any other tanks that work as well as the nova for the money that are bottom wick or just don't get dry hits and keep the coil wet better?
