Just got the parts for my medium mode Ody w/GGTS base and put a new coil in, but instead of the usual single wick, I tried using a "bow" for dual wicks in a single channel and I noticed that with the window, the juice level drops after the first few vapes, and goes below the window and the collection tank is full of juice, leaking a bit. I'm running a 1.8ohm coil, three wraps of stock COV NR and R wire, the expansion tank w/clear window, and a second top nut (to raise the height of the mouthpiece). Since I'm running low on wire/wick, I was hoping someone could provide some basic feedback. My thoughts are that the second wick is pulling too much juice and subsequently dropping it out of the wick, down the center post and into the collector tank. Does this sound right? Or did I possibly assemble something wrong with the new tank sections? I did remember to add 2 O-rings to each end of the clear tank section.

The dual wick is not the problem, no need for your second nut, Make sure there is no gap between your locking nut and base where your ground wire goes. I tuck that wire behind the locking nut like this....

Also look to make sure there is no gap in the channel where the wick comes out. No space on the sides or bottom.

Haven't heard of the 2 orings on the window.

And there is an entire thread on this issue here...

Hope this helps.

With double the wick in the channels it is most likely over wicking and the juice collecting around and on the wire coils, pooling and then dripping down into the air channel.

With all the O-rings properly installed on the rebuildable portion contact post and properly tightened into the base, the air channel is the only place that can leak into the collector on the Odysseus system.

Have you tried the Mr. Krinkle method yet of using two short pieces of wick on top with no wick in the channels and only the wire?

Give it a try and it should end the leaking probs.

That was what I was thinking as I've never used dual wicks before, but I remember something about it from Imeo. Haven't tried the Mr. K. method. Will try that next time I build a new coil. Turns out I had a spare single wick coil already made up so I just switched it out and it seems to work without flooding. Have some mesh that I was planning on trying anyways.

I may have mis understood. 1 oring on each end. Total of 2. Right?

The way I read your post..I am thinking 2 on each end. Total of 4.
Nope, 2 total. The clear window from COV didn't come with any O-rings, but I happened to have some from my iAtty spares pile.

Ok, I figured it out. When I put the second "ground" ring on, to raise the mouthpiece, I tightened the mouthpiece too much. As I unscrewed it, it also unscrewed the second "ground" ring, but tightening the mouthpiece wouldn't tighten it back up so there was enough of a gap there to allow more liquid than I thought into the channel up the Ody Ceramic base, up through to the center post and dripping into the collector tank. I noticed it wouldn't do it in short mode which made me think it was something to do with the assembly of medium mode. Two tanks later (only 3/4 of which were actually vaped), it came to me! Thanks for all the suggestions especially Serpent67. Back to vaping bliss on my GGTS/Ody.
