Hi Guys

So I've been analog-free for 5 weeks now, some record for me after smoking on and off but mostly on for 30 years. My biggest mistake, and maybe some newbies can learn from this and not make the same mistake, was focussing on my nicotine addiction above anything else. The first few weeks were terrible. How much should I be vaping? Am I getting enough nicotine? Why am I still craving a stinky? Am I getting too much nicotine? Is 18mg liquid too strong? Maybe I should go down to 9mg? No, I can't stand the cravings, let me go back up to 18mg. Worry, worry, worry. This plus the general anxiety of "stopping smoking" caused me to work myself up into a real old state. Until I suddenly stepped back and asked myself: where did the enjoyment go? I always enjoyed smoking, why am I now in such a state? This is more interesting, much healthier, I have so many fantastic flavours to choose from, why am I not enjoying it? I immediately switched my focus away from addiction to enjoying vaping, the joy of upgrading to a better device, discovering flavours that really work for me, the convenience of being able to vape in the car, at home, everywhere. And you know what? The nicotine addiction looked after itself. I'm still on 18mg juice and will stay there for a while, anything lower don't satisfy my cravings and I'll rather vape less on stronger liquid that all the time on weaker liquid and still not be satisfied. I'm not worried about dropping nicotine levels, I just want to enjoy my vaping. So life is beautiful again and I'm looking forward to the next part of the journey!

Thanks for listening.

Good for you......When we went in I had alot of the same concerns. The B&M we went to was real helpful and worked with us for the first month. We did start with 24mg nic though. I finished the last pack of analogs I bought which lasted 3 weeks. There were alot of mental habits to break but it all comes in time. I'm now at 18mg nic and the wife at 12mg. I don't feel the need to quit vaping but will drop the nic level lower and in time. My wife is on a mission to be nic free and give up completely. At some point I'll be flavor chasing with my regulated mod and two rba's and the tanks and mods will be in someone elses hand to help them quit. your at the point where analogs aren't a factor anymore that's the most important thing what you from here is up to you.

Keep going! Now that you've figured out a way to dump those horrid feelings about cravings and such, you're golden!

Also, I live in SC. Here we have (roughly) two season of the four. I'm sure locals would disagree, but I just moved here and I gotta tell you... It isn't a joke.
We have summer, during the winter time. Most of which is spent in the 60 to 70s.
And we have hell. During the summer time, which is consumed with 90 degree weather with 100% humidity.

My point? I can now vape in the car with my windows UP! OH THANK JESUS.

Ha, anyway, good luck !

Thanks for sharing. Funny, I went through the exact same thing and settled on the same dosage and have been vaping 5 weeks as well. Found myself vaping too much on 12 but trying to convince myself that 18 was too strong when in fact it's where I need to be. Even bought a 6mg bottle of SpaceJam that's been sitting on the shelf. Once I decided to put down the analogs I found myself turning towards the backdoor after getting a cup of coffee with the association of having a cig. I'd catch myself and it took a few days for that to go away. Now I don't crave cigs, have found a few flavors I really like and the sweet spot on my devices.

Good for you! I can't wait to say i no longer smoke!! i have been a smoker for 40 years. I received my starter kit on Monday afternoon, and once i figured out how everything worked, i have been very happy with it. I keep thinking that i must be doing something wrong because i haven't smoked since Monday afternoon and other then a couple seriously bad headaches and a couple bad cravings, i really haven't missed the cigarettes. it's just been to easy so far..

Everyone has an "awakening" when they finally realize they have quit .. each different.
Most talk about how they smell so much better, the "stink" is gone, or they can taste food again or breath without coughing up a lung.
They forget about the little things like no more yellow film buildup on the inside of the windshield..

Thanks for telling us your experience, it really helps the new vapers realize they are "not the only ones"
You may not save any $$$ originally, getting setup, but it will turn into a fat wallet soon enough, if you resist buying every new thing out there.
In any case, you have something to show for your money, and your not consuming over 4000 poisons anymore. Health is priceless.
Congrats on trading your habit for a hobby

Thanks for sharing! I think that I focused on the nicotine at first because I wanted to feel assured that vaping nicotine would work for me. I watched my urges and how far apart they were. Basically, is my intake similar to my smoking nicotine intake. After about 3-4 days, I started to think about flavor and understanding more about it.

Thanks!

I didn't start with too much pressure, but the first week or so I was having a hard time drawing on my evod2. Until I finally figured out how to correctly draw & inhale, which made a TON of difference. Once I got that going, I decided that the packs of butts I had were my last. And then just gradually eased off the analogs & now am vaping 100%. Totally cigg free for about 2 weeks. The few weeks before I was only smoking 1-2 ciggs a day, and before that only 4-5 a day. I just took it easy & no pressure. Worked like a dream! I started on 24, which was probably too strong. So I got some 12 mg nic & cut that into the 24 which was better. Now I'm mostly vaping 12 with a little 24 in there too. Good blend, and I love to mix flavors together. It's all good & everyone has a different approach that will work for them. Congrats on quitting!

I was a pack and a quarter a day smoker for 36 years. When I started vaping, I reduced my cigarettes significantly but I could not get off of them. I smoked for the nicotine. So, after a few weeks of cravings and back sliding I bought nic juice (100mg) online. I added it to my favorite juice using a complicated formula to bring that one clearomizer up to a nic level of 38mg. I only and I mean only vaped a couple or 3 hits on that when the cravings got too bad and I knew I was going to go have a cigarette. It worked. Tasted like crap (extremely strong throat hit) and made me feel a bit buzzy, but it worked.

I do not suggest this for anyone else, I'm only telling you because it's the only thing that did work for me. I found myself sucking on my vape constantly (or wanting to) and I can't do that alllll day long. Not with my job. So, I had to figure something else out or I was going to become a smoker again, and that would have killed me (pun intended)

High nic juice won't kill you if you are careful. Don't vape if you feel sick to your stomach or get too buzzy. I vaped my extremely high nic juice only until I no longer craved a cigarette. As soon as that happened, no lie, in 2 or 3 puffs, I put on a different clearomizer with normal nic juice (usually 18mg) I also found that I didn't need to vape constantly. I still use my high nic juice several times a day (often during breaks at work because I need the nic and I don't have very much time to get it) I use this system like I used to use cigarettes.

This has saved me from smoking. Halleluiah!

Good luck to you, I hope you find what will work for you.

ROFL! I can relate -- Atlanta also typically has just two seasons, rain and hell. Sometimes they coincide, like those ungodly ice storms we get in Feb-March. When the gulf is throwing us rain, but an alberta clipper is blowing and it's 25 degrees... it's real nasty.
