So i ran out of juice yesterday, borrowed some of my mom's and it made me ill. It was a brand that she smokes from the local tobacco shop who god only knows where they order from. All i know is that it's a tobacco flavor that is sapossed to taste like usa brand cigs. I usually only vape fruits but i was out and thought I'd give hers a try. It was 18mg so ok. Boy o boy. Two hours later and i flushed the juice down the drain. Went to the only place in this island to get me a bottle and as luck would have it....the place is closed. Diy is looking better all the time. I sure won't let this happen again.

Always keep your liquids well stocked. I always buy more when I am down to 30ml. The juice usually needs to steep (age) a few days to a week to get the flavors well blended and set, so it's always better to buy them about a week or two before you intend to start using them. Keep them in a dark cabinet, take them out and shake them really well once a day, and let them sit and age before you start using them.

Eep, that sounds nasty! I just made my first batches of DIY (just straight flavors, not my own recipes), and it's pretty great. I read somewhere around here that fruit flavors don't usually need to steep, and that's true of the ones I tried (blueberry, raspberry, tangerine); maybe they are going to taste even better later, but they were great and totally vapeable right away. I used this calculator, and looked up recommended percentages for my flavors (like here and here, here), and I'm vaping my own low-nic raspberry and cream combo right now. Fun! and nice to have a stash. :)

Tazzle, I've been wanting to do that, too.
But given the crazy amounts of money I have spent on upgraded gear and the countless juices -- I'm terrified of even starting that hobby, haha. Forget saving money from quitting; I'd need a second job to support this new habit!
So thus far, I have refrained....but it looks more tempting each and every day.

A long long term member I NOW follow religiously told me in a 'PM' to find several I like at a local shop if at all possible. Make certain they really do the trick and then either buy one larger bottle of a single flavor or smaller bottles of two or three flavors to "stash away". So in the event I should 'run out' I would have 'backups' - well "aged" (as opposed to 'steeped' as he said) and when I went to the 'reserve' to replenish it ASAP. It's logical. Sort of like with important medications or my favorite refrigerated beverage. So..... even though only on Day Six - I have two bottles stashed away in "cool dark place" - just in case. If it's practical - maybe it is something to toss about so you don't vape bilge water.

Oh yes -- he also suggested a small bottle of "VG" to use to "cut" those 24mg nicotine juices I now vape down to a more tolerable level when the day comes I just can't stand the 'hit' of that 24mg nicotine. Too much might cut the flavor too - but then that is OK - it is still useable. Now THAT really sounded logical to me and I have a jug in with the 'juice' for when that time comes.

Now that I read a lot more - I see the same suggestions from MANY people - all with really REALLY high 'post counts' and well written suggestions for "why" to do something. I keep those folks stored in a special little book so I don't forget who to go seek out when in a pinch in the future.

I must admit .... I do believe I will take care with any suggestion that says, "YOU WILL LOVE IT" when it comes to online ordered juice - mo matter by which vendor. Those words seem to be the kiss of death and the cause of many a hard-feelings discussion. I shall beware on that particular "recommendation"!

Good Luck!

Tom

You just HAVE to do SOME kind of DIY;
Easy way is to get 24mg or less of 100%PG eliquid and add your own USP glycerin from the pharmacy

Add 3 times the volume in glycerin and you end up with a 25/75 PG/VG of 6mg.

Thanks edyle! I'll give it a try. I really think going DIY is the best option because i live on an island that only has a tobacco store with very few options lol and getting any place else (Corpus Christi) is almost a day trip by its self lol. There are not alot of options there either. Since my mom vapes cost sharing wouldn't be a hard. I've got a friend who lives in Tennessee that is willing to be a guinea pig too!

In the week if Vaping I know this works . The B&M had some foul juice and I cut it with glycerin from Wally World and now it's tolerable .

So sorry that this happened to you. Until vaping gets more popular and great flavors are as available as analogs, what folks have said about either DIY or stocking up sounds like a good thing to do.

If you do get into DIY, be sure to share your experience. I am not at the DIY stage yet (and it may or may not be part of my vaping path), but I am trying to accumulate at least 90 days of juices that I like in case the "rules" change. I think I am close to having a 60 day supply and will be adding to it over the next few weeks.

I hope this doesn't happen to you again. Keep the vape and namaste.

I was a long term smoker (45 days ago). I got some fruit, but wanted to try tobacco. I got a sampler with 5 and, no, it didn't work out.

One of the things I wanted to get rid of was the layer of ??? that would set on my teeth and gums. So far, I am with the fruits. BUT, I did try and bought "Fruit Roll-up" today and it is pretty darn good. Eventually, I will try some of those others. I noticed that pastries are a bit "thick" in taste, too.

I am getting somewhere,

Jere
