Well, I got my 510 today and ordered it with 24mg juice. I figured since I was a 1+ ppd smoker sometimes 2 ppd that 24mg would be good. Well, it's a little too high I think. I let my battery charge all day and just took it off the charger, filled the cart, and started vaping away. Works great by the way. But started noticing pretty quick that my pulse rate started to get a little quick and backed off. I haven't tried it again yet, and it's been almost an hour. I guess I need to mix it down a little bit. LOL, I'm such a wuss..

Nothing wussy about it. I think Mistress Nomad said it in her newbie video...there are 2PAD smokers who can't vape more that 12mg, and some half a pack smokers who have to vape at least 24mg. I started out with 18mg and found myself chain vaping and still wanting an analog. I tried some 24mg and that seems to be doing the trick for me.

It seems that it affects each of us a little differently. I was a carton/week, a fairly mild cigarette. And, it took upping my nic level to 36mg to kill my cravings ... and, I'm not finding an easy time reducing. Well, I haven't really tried very hard to reduce, just yet.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with HOW you vape, the juice itself, and probably some body chemistry too. Whatever the case is, I've seen this discussed pretty often on ECF.

1.5-2PAD, 12+ year, MboroRed smoker here, I went from 18<24<36 still wasn't enough, LR atty helped, finally 42mg and LR atty did it for me, gave me that 'just smoked a cig' feeling I was looking for.... After doing my research, I decided it was ALOT healthier to not worry as much about how high a mg, or how much I vape, it's still 1000x better for you then those analog cancer sticks.... So whatever it takes to get me through the day (right now that's about 6-7mls of 40mg DIY liquid), that's what I do...

I picked up some Original Reds from house of vapor the other day. It is 24mg, but like the OP said, it was just too strong. I never really thought about "mixing" it down. How would I go about that? I obviously would have to order stuff, but a good crash course on what that entails and what I should order would be good to know down the road.

You can cut it with straight Propylene Glycol or Glycerin. Glycerin or Vegetable Glycerin is easy, Wal-Mart has it in the skin care isle. Either of these are available just about everywhere, start with some searches within these forums.

Depends a lot on how you vape it. One hit after another will cause a nico overload; regardless of the mg

LOL...I literally vape all day. No....really.
Still, HOW you vape all day seems more significant to me. Different people do it differently. Deep lung hits (various hold times), shallow puffs, exhale through mouth or nose, or mouth and nose. These and more factors could affect your absorption.

I was a 2.5-3 pad for last 20 years; 1.5 to 2 pad for 20 years prior to that. American Spirit Organic since they came out. Mild smoke but pretty high nic with much less contaminants than others. Whenever I had to go, even a couple of hours, without an analog I would use a patch. Being a "master" quitter I have experienced true nicotine withdrawal on several occasions. One time when I cold turkeyed, using acupuncture, DH, an M.D. suggested I check into a hospital. He was serious.

18-24 mg pretty much does it for me, most of the time, chain vaping, most of the time about 16 hours a day. Sometimes I feel like I need more nic so I've ordered, and just got in some straight, no flavor, nic juice to mix in a small bottle with my regular juices, just for those times when I feel like I "need" more nic. That's usually first thing in morning with coffee and afternoon when I go out and sit by pool, with glass of wine, before doing outside chores.

I'm going to do some extensive studying before I use the straight nic juice so I'll know exactly what I'm doing.

Interesting thing though.... now that I'm vaping I can go several hours without any nic craving. I don't even carry a PV shopping even if I'm going to be without for several hours.

I've tried smoking an analog to soothe the craving when it occasionally happens. That doesn't work for me.

On a side note..... years ago, one of my sisters, a pretty heavy smoker, was in hospital for surgery. She used a patch. After a few hours she started showing signs of nicotine overdose. Everyone is different. You'll find a good point that is just right for you. Just takes a little experimenting.

Like another poster said, you could buy some PG or VG to thin the nic level out a little. If you have a couple spare bottles you could thin it to either 12mg or 16mg easily.

The Mixes: One part Originals Reds + one part PG would give you a 12 mg new nic level; or 2 parts Original Reds + 1 part PG would give you a 16mg new nic level. You will lose some of the flavor though. "One part" can be one drop or one ml. Whichever measurement you use, just be consistent.

Another idea: If you love the flavor of your Original Reds as it is, you could buy a small bottle of it in 12mg nic strength. Try the 12mg and see how you like it first. If it doesn't seem like it's enough, in a small bottle, mix one part 24mg + one part 12mg. This will give you an 18mg nic level.

A third way: If you want to play around with adding another flavor, using the above example, just add 1 part Original Reds 24mg + one part <flavor of your choice at 12mg> (say something you think might blend well with Original Red like caramel or apple...). This will give you an 18mg flavor mix to try, as well as the new flavor you purchased at 12mg.

Hope this helps.
