Learning curve!

I had been looking for a good education on e-cigs when I found the Wonderful World of vaping stickies. Great read. Unfortunately I need more. I see so much talk about models, mah, ohm, etc. and I don't have the foggiest what y'all are talking about. Can someone link to an explanation of the technology? Something far beyond a photo of an e-cig broken down into battery and cartomizer, hehe.

Thanks so much...

i saw my friend with one and i wanted one. he directed me to this site and a vendor. i was so damn confused. he ended up ordering me an ego c twist and clearomizer. i then started reading everything i could about this and went to a store and the guys explained a few things. its a pretty steep curve, had i just made an account, posted here and read some tutorials / info like the post above, it would have helped so much lol.

good luck

There are so many new types of e-cigs, atomizers, cartomizers, tanks, etc., it can be overwhelming. Do yourself a favor and don't try to learn it all at one time.

You may want to check out the ECF Library, the sub-forum is on the main page and you may also want to do some reading in the InfoZone, the top of the main page, right next to "Forums".

Everything I learned has been from this forum and by my own trial and error.

It is overwhelming at first. Just keep reading the forums and do not be afraid to ask questions.

That is the trick, ask ask and ask some more. I have learned more from vets on the forum and then trying things than anything else.

Some vets are very knowledgeable, but to be honest, many of us, including myself, find what we like, stay with it and don't keep up with the latest technology.

Actually the best way is to start a thread and ask what you want. Give details about what you smoked, how long, what type cigs, and what you are looking for. Some people have to have a cig-alike because they just don't know any better, others want more. This is probably the best place to get started because there are tons of people who have been there. Take the advice and research further.

Just find something to keep you off the analogs. When you hit the "sweet spot". Then you won't care about all the techie terms. If you like to tinker with stuff there is always that option and help is here. There are folks here that can make a techie nerd look stupid. (Don't mean to offend anyone, but there are people here that should be working for NASA). I started to try to get back into the tech stuff but after 27+ years I don't care anymore. I just want to vape and be happy. Good luck, and Welcome to the wonderful worlf of brain overload. LOL

I've been vaping for about a year now. not really having any problems but I've been over some hurdles technologically :) the most recent was learning how to refill cartomizers with liquid. I LOVE vaping. love love love it. I truly dislike analogs now. they taste terrible and don't do anything for me! haha. I even enjoy fiddling with parts and having a little stash of "equipment" which, compared to some users, isn't equipment at all. just a bottle of juice, a paper towel, and something to open the cartomizer with.

I'm not looking to make any changes to my set-up, but I'm very curious about all the different aspects. models, connections, power, liquid proportions... I read all 6 parts to the Wonderful World stickie in a couple hours. :) need more!! I'll follow these recommended links first chance I get.

I've tried to understand some of the super tech-heavy discussions here, mostly about modding. it's fascinating but way over my head. I aim to correct that!

Take it slow and steady. This forum has a wealth of information and a bunch of friendly folks who will answer your questions. If you have a vapor store near you do yourself a favor and visit it. After spending hours here reading and reading and watching videos a 30 min hands on at my local vapor store seemed me make everything come together. Good Luck.
