I just did some research (I have the V4) where I held the button down continuously and the cutoff was 15 seconds. The manual says that if the user inhales for more than five seconds continuously, the light would flash, but it was 15 seconds for me, it flashed, and stopped letting me draw.
The manual also says that "to avoid over frequent usage of the product, once smoke it for sixteen times within one minute, the indicator light will continuously flash 10 times for reminding." I took this to mean that if you drew sixteen times within a minute, the light would flash. I tried this too (with really short draws), took about 25 drags within a min., and it never flashed. By the way, I'm using cartomizers. Not sure if that makes any difference.
