I agree with you, but I was assuming we were talking apples to apples with a 3.7v battery.

I use high drain batteries because of their performance over other types. But a 2 different mods using the same battery will perform the same (given there are no differences in draw, etc)

I may have indeed misunderstood the intent of DonDaBoomVape's post. I took "battery" as literal, and probably glossed over "battery holder". I have to agree to a point anyway. A tube or box that holds a battery and has a button and an atty/carto connector is going to be the same as another one that holds the same battery.

But the eGo style batts aren't created equal either. Well, some are, I guess. Cozzicon did a video where he opened an old eGo and a regulated Riva and they had the same battery inside them.

Thank you all for your comments (the complimenting, agreeing, and disagreeing) and Likes!

I agree with you, six ... and use AW IMR batteries in all my mods. [Well, I couldn't find an AW IMR 14650 for my smaller NoEgo, so I went with the brand that ElectronicStix sells ... still IMR though.] The difference in price between AW IMR and Trustfire/Ultrafire/Nofire Li-Ion is negligible (in a pound-wize penny-foolish sense) and well worth it IMO (for all the reasons you stated).

I just couldn't figure out how to briefly phrase all that you said, when the main point of my post was how important a good cartomizer is. The maligning of batteries was mainly controversial attention-getting.:D [I do stand by all that I said. I would rather vape one of my favorite cartos (loaded with some good juice) on an inexpensive Riva or NoEgo than a mediocre atty/carto/tank on a high-priced mod.]

Sure enough. - I hadn't used any cartos until a few months ago, and I hadn't gotten very adventurous with atty purchases either. I went on a bit of a buying spree one day and ordered pretty much every 510 carto in existence (the one glaring exception is that I did not try Ikens - ran out of money before I got to those) and I added heavily to my atty collection.

Out of more than a couple of dozen different kinds of cartos, it washed out to really just two that I thought were worth using. I decided that the boge 2.0 ohm and the smoke tech dual coils were keepers (I've since added boge 3.0 ohm at 5.0v and boge 1.8 ohm for 3.7v). The rest I traded away or threw away. -- Attys were sort of the same way. I was already using high quality attys, so most of the ones I bought on that spree weren't worth it. I did settle on Cisco's just because they were as good as what I was already using and had the benefit of coming without primer to clean out of them before I can use them.

All in all, I'm with you on that. I would also much rather use a device that works reliably and predictably well on any PV I have handy than worry about whether or not the PV it's on is special or fancy. As long as the PV can do what I want it to without failing or being too troublesome, it doesn't matter much to me which one I have in my hand (though my work and play do require I carry something very durable most of the time).

Thank you, six, for sharing the results of all that research you conducted!

In addition to the Boge and Smok Tech Dual Coil, you may also want to check out the Smok Tech 1.7 ohm Mega Single Coil cartomizer (aptly nicknamed "The Resurrector" by Crystal Clear Vaping, because it brings new life to the 3.2V eGo). The dual coils don't hit hard enough for me on 3.2V and barely hard enough on 3.7V (e.g., as delivered by my NoEgo). I've just ordered a $12 Riva SE batt (supposedly true 3.7V, starting at 4.2V fully charged) from Liberty-Flights to try out with my dual coils.

And I have recently discovered a brand new PV: the Elite 808 from CigEasy. [I just posted my review here on ECF and on Vaping Guides.] I think the Elite cartomizers (2ml-capacity, Kr8-compatible) are fantastic. They work so well on the Elite batts that I've not gotten around to trying them with adapter on 510-fitting batteries. [Yeah, I know this thread is about how unimportant batteries are. But I did also say I like "an attractive, comfortable-to-handle package."]
