In fact, the flavored cigarettes that were banned by the FSPTCA in 2009 accounted for <.1% of the US cigarette market,
and the vast majority of those banned flavored cigarettes were clove cigarettes (from Indonesia), which were smoked by Indonesian immigrants (not children) in the US. Meanwhile, menthol cigarettes (which CTFK, ACS, AHA, ALA agreed to exempt from the flavored cigarette ban) account for 30% of the US cigarette market share.
Now Legacy, CTFK, ACS, AHA, ALA etc are making the same false claims about flavored cigars, smokeless tobacco and e-cigarettes as a strategy to ban those products.
