Those look strange because they're double wrapped. Doesn't mean much though.
Impossible to tell from a photo if they're genuine, only way to be relatively sure is to buy from a trusted vendor.
With some guy selling via newegg - kinda playing with fire.
Anyone know of a trusted vendor that has these in stock and button top?

I don't believe that LG makes a button top battery. That doesn't mean that those batteries in your link are not authentic LG batteries because battery suppliers/vendors can add button tops to any battery. I just can't vouch for the reputation of Newegg.

It's nearly impossible to tell if batteries are authentic brand name based solely upon a picture. Best advice is to purchase from a well known reputable supplier of batteries. Lion Wholesale, RTD Vapor, and Orbtronics are reputable suppliers which should have some button tops of authentic batteries. Just be sure the battery specs say "unprotected" and has at least 15 amps CDR.

RTD are reliable so they will be genuine.

Bear in mind that adding a button to a flat top battery will increase its length, even if it's done well using a genuine battery. It won't matter in some mods, like if they have a spring with plenty of movement, but some are a tight fit. They have a warning about that in the description.

What mod will you be using them in?

It is for an original provari (way old school)

The original Provari was actually mechanically designed around an AW button top battery. Probably the main reason why Provape was so intent that customers use AW. The design's intent was to prevent reverse polarity (putting a battery in upside down resulting in frying the circuit board). Flat top batteries couldn't make the electrical connection correctly no matter which way they were put in.

I guess some of the wider button top batteries may not fit appropriately, but most should. Not so much because of the length of the battery, but the button top must match up correctly in width with the positive battery connector inside the Provari. The positive battery contact you see below in the Provari's circuit board has two elevated pieces opposing one another (at 6 and 12 oclock) that the battery button top must fit into to make electrical contact.

Shouldn't be a problem then. They have a pretty long spring. I don't know for sure though. It might put more pressure on the positive contact in the mode.

Most people use the AW batteries for Provaris. Any particular reason you aren't getting those? I've looked at other batteries myself, because the AW doesn't have a very high mah. Never got any though.

At the present time, AW batteries are difficult to find in stock anywhere. The AW factory suffered from some sort of flooding problem recently and their batteries have been out of stock for at least a few weeks.

Excellent! btw- early 2018, LG HG2 is indeed in button top, avail. Authentic OEM from your fave trusted sellers such as
RTDVapor

They offer guarantee against counterfeits..

Any ideas on the button top safe guards built into the ZNA? No, I wouldn't dream of noodling around inside mine,
Presently we've a plethora of BT choices available. (30Q, NCR18650B, HG-2 BT, ).

For 18650s remember to double check measurements as they’ll vary between 65.12mm -69.4mm length, even when
Width is close enough to 18 to be serviceable, you’ll need to be certain your batts will fit in your PV before you order
Since returns on batts may be limited (you might want to check those terms too).
