So I hear a lot of people like to add a couple drops to some of their recipes. I am working on a key lime pie, and lemonade. So I went to walmark (I just love adding the k ) and picked these up....but then I noticed the ingredients "Lemon oil" and that threw up a red flag....what do you guys think...

The lime juice says "Lime oil" as well....

I wouldn't use it, but I am sure others have. It's probably okay once diluted, but diluted prior to adding into your mix. My gut says just save it for your beverages and pick up some Lemon Sicily (especially for a lemonade) and Lime Cold Pressed from FA. If you have those already and don't like them (not sure how that's possible to not like those, LOL), someone else can offer up another suggestion that'll likely be just as well suited.

Edit: I wouldn't be surprised if FA uses some oil in some of their citrus mixes, but it's going to be already diluted and from my experiences, it can be much further diluted without losing it's zing.

I have used Flavor Apprentice Lemon and Lime, its the only flavor out of 20 that I mixed that will form separate layer on top. I haven't heat steeped it, Just given it a shake every now and then. When I check on it day later, its seperated again. I use 100% VG.

This leads me to believe it contains oils. It also has a slight cardboard aftertaste, unfortunately, as the lemon lime flavour comes through nice and crisp.

Haven't tried any other citrus flavors, but from my experience, I wouldn't recommend FA lemon&lime.

Edit: Mixed at 10% :)

Oh, I did not see the edit. Thanks, I think I am going to hold off a bit until I order more flavors :)

JMA (just my advice), I would begin with those FA Flavors at one drop, or like .5% to try them out. I usually dilute at 50% or lower and add in at .5-1% but even if I don't, I wouldn't recommend at anything higher than 2%.

Thanks for the heads up on that flavor. I wonder if anyone has contacted FA, TFA or any other companies and asked them if they have oil in their ingredients. I know for a fact that LA Lorann's has some oil based flavorings, but I am unsure about the others.

Yep, thanks for the heads up Mann, I learned my lesson with TFA Circus Cotton Candy mixed at 15% WOOOOOOO that's some strong stuff! Then TFA Caramel Cappuccino like to burn the hairs off my face mixed at 10%!!!!

Those 2 flavors still haunt me til this day. Caramel Cappuccino actually tastes pretty good at 1 drop per 10 ml with some sweet cream & toasted marshmallow. I haven't dared tried to play with Circus Cotton candy again. I have yet to see anyone post a percentage on that flavor too lol

Yeah, I test everything first at one drop per 5 mL, and what's crazy is how often I am way over in percentage it should be at, yet way under in "recommend percentage".

p.s. For sampling FA, if you didn't already know, Eliquidmart.com and Purevapes.com both have great prices on sample sizes. I prefer ELM for there overall selection though, prices and actual sample 'size'.

Purevapes: $1.50/ 3 mL for regular FA flavors

Eliquidmart: $1.69/ 5 mL for regular FA flavors

Wizardlabs has FA range @ $1.50/8ml $0.19/ml.

I just ordered 50 different 8ml flavors from them, and another 30 odd from ecigexpress. So many recipes on this forum I NEED to try!

Living on a small island in the middle of the pacific, I just ain't got no time for vendor juice prices plus shipping, DIY till I die :) !!!

Just to keep things understandable:

FA = Flavourart
TFA = The Flavor Apprentice (by *The Perfrumers Apprentice, so also may be written as TPA)

Wizardlabs doesn't sell Flavourart unfortunately, they sell TFA (The Flavor Apprentice).

Ah you got me. Wizardlabs list it as Flavor Apprentice, my brain read it as FA and associated it to flavor art. My bad.

I ordered my flavorart flavors from ecigexpress, $3/10ml.

They were out of stock on a couple, and I'd been reading the big TFA recipe thread, so I made another order with wizardlabs.

It used to get me all tangled up, so I understand.
