Has anyone else had experience with tea flavors trashing coils? I made an awesome Sweet Lemon Tea liquid, and while it tastes great, my coils get burned quickly (couple of days) when using it. But I'm wondering if it's the tea or the lemon that's doing it?

I used Sweet Tea and Juicy Lemon, both Capella. Any ideas? I'm really bummed because I love it.

More than likely, its not the ejuice, it is how high you have your pv set, what kind of coils/heads you are using and their resistance. Thinner liquid does burn quicker than liquid with some vg in the mix. Are you giving the head/coil time to re-wick the juice between totes?

No, it's nothing like that. I have three Enduras going, each using a different liquid, and all with the same coils. Only the one using the lemon tea is burning out. It's happened twice now.

Are you using a sweetner in your mix? Sometimes, it burns hotter than other ingredients and that may be the culprit. Have you tried turning the voltage down? It that even possible with your set-up? I have found that some of my mixes just can't be at the same temps. While one will do great, another will do what yours is, so all I do is turn my pv volts down. If that isn't possible for you on your set-up try a higher resistance coil/head.
:)

eta/ just looked online at your set up. Try upping the amt of vg used in your mix. This will give a 'thickness' to your juice and more vaper, and tend not to burn as quickly as just using pg alone.

Thanks everyone for your help. I make all my e-liquid 35/65 PG/VG, so I probably have enough VG.

Regarding sweetener, that may be it. I don't add any myself, but maybe there's some in the Sweet Tea, and possibly the Lemon too. It tastes a bit sweet, but not overly by any means.

Well at least it's a place to start. I'll try just the tea and see what happens. Thanks for your tips, all! :)

I mix my fave 'green apple-white grape' with no sweetener at all in it and it will gunk up coils in a couple days. I switched to Vaporesso ceramic coils so I can clean them more than once, and when Kanger changed their old dual coil design to their new "you can't rebuild them easy anymore" design. I have 2 ceramic coils going on 2 months now. Cleaned them around a dozen times and they are still going strong. Its a real shame when your favorite knock out mix gunks up your enjoyment.

Well, I haven't tried anything yet regarding mixing, but I did find a different and probably inadequate and temporary solution. I rinsed out my coil to ungunk it, dried it, and I'm reusing it. Not a perfect solution I know, but it will do for now.

I'm going to try using just the sweet tea, or just the lemon, to try to figure out which one is causing the problem. When I figure that out, I'll have to tweak with different brands or flavors.
