In the last two days, I've seen, "The Revenant" and "The Martian." I think they're both OK. Neither depicts reality. Oh and there are a ton of reasons, but I'll just give two big ones:
Revenant: in more than one scene, a lone Indian saves the star of the show by allowing him to eat. Note also that the lone Indian gathered wood from miles around to start 3, THREE, raging campfires to eat his meal by. Let me tell you folks. For those of you who have never camped for 2 months straight as I have. You will work all day to gather or create enough wood for one campfire, let alone THREE that burn with six foot high flames.
Martian: The pressure on Mars would not have allowed the plastic covering for the then combusted PRESSURIZED tube to the main craft.
Funny thing, the real Hugh Glass endured far worse, mostly alone.
They tamed the true story down for the film.
They just don't make men like Hugh Glass anymore.
I like DiCaprio's films.
Still think the Beach was one of his best.
