Not sure what passthrough you bought (mine is the 901 from Puresmoker) or 'what' caused it to break? I've been using mine for about a month with no problems, but I do worry all the time about catching the wire (going into the battery) on things and ripping it out. I read somewhere (another forum when ECF was down I think) about somebody putting Gorilla glue around the cord where it goes into the battery to give it extra support. I thought it sounded like a great idea! I bought my Gorilla glue, but haven't done mine yet. Just thought I'd pass on the idea if it was the cord that went on yours? I ordered 2 more passthrough spares that just came... and going to Gorilla glue them too, just to be safe. ;)

i have wrapped sellotape around the wire on my pass through, all the way from one end to the other, keeps it very protected.

I wish I knew how to make a passthrough. I'd like to see one made with a retractable USB like this

But until then I pull my cord through one of these

It's a key chain holder....put keys on one end, clip the other to your belt loop. It's a rubbery, springy coil (like the ones you can wear around your wrist?). You can find them all around in the US.

The only thing I can think is she must push the cable through one end and out the other (couldn't do it with the battery box ones obviously)....acts as a barrier for the wire and keeps it from getting all bent up. This is only my guess. I'm sure she'll be around to answer though :p

Had two go bad, switch and/or wire problems so I made a heavy duty model. One tire valve with all the rubber cut off (threads are correct for 901), 2" model airplane fuel line inserted in the valve, 2 1/4" copper rod inserted in the fuel line for the positive contact, soldered heavy duty push switch to the valve, soldered heavy duty USB cable to positive and negative. Negative is the casing with the threads and switch. Wrapped it all with electric tape and wow I now have Screwdriver USB.

I've got a Puresmoker 901 passthru. I've snagged the wire around my desk so many times I'm shocked it hasn't been pulled completely out of the battery part and i've dropped it on my hardwood floor atleast a hundred times.

4 weeks of abuse and it's still rockin' like day 1. Although I can hear a little metal moving around when I take carts out and tap it.

Would love to see some photos of this or possibly a "how to" vid!
