Less flavor from Triton tank than mini?

Hey all. So I started off with a G6. Been using the 12mg Menthol Ice as my all day vape. Been using the mini tank on my G6 and have been loving it so I went ahead and ordered the Triton starter kit as well. Plan is to use the Triton at home and the G6 while out and about.

So I got the triton in, filled the tank with Menthol Ice from the same 30ml bottle I have been using to fill the mini. I've used the triton all day today and it kind of dawned on me that I wasn't tasting much of anything. At first I thought it was due to how airy the hit is on the big tank so I covered a hole while I hit. I felt the draw was better this way, but still wasn't getting much flavor. So on the way home I pulled out my G6 and took a few draws on it. Huge difference. I can taste the flavor much better from the mini on the G6 then I can from the large tank on the Triton. For the hell of it I screwed the mini onto the Triton Battery just to see and sure enough, same great flavor from the mini tank on the triton body. So anyone have any thoughts on what may be causing this flavor drop on the larger tank?

Greeny, the mini tanks run warmer than the standard Triton 2.2-2.4 coils that come in the Triton tanks. You can buy replacement coils in 1.8-2.0 for the Triton that will burn warmer like the mini tanks or you can get a VV Halo battery to dial in the temp you prefer on your standard coils. :)

I agree with Evie, the minitanks do seem to be warmer. Did you try the other Triton tank? The first one's coil might be a bit higher resistance. And I find the Triton tank need a little time to "break in" to the new flavor. Vape a tank, refill. Is the refill still muted?

I can see the Menthol Ice doing better with a hotter vape.

And I'll bet you like the Triton better with Menthol Ice fresh off the charger. The battery voltage will be 4.2 dropping to 4.0. At the batteries halfway point, it'll slowly drop to 3.7, then blink for a recharge. If you like it "hot", recharge them at the halfway point.

And welcome to Halo!!!

That is true. The mini tanks are definitely warmer on the hit than the triton tanks are. And the triton tanks are seriously airy too. I think I might just tape up one of the holes on the big tanks. I have not tried the other tank that came in the kit or the extra one I ordered with it. Will have to try that and look into a different coil maybe as well. Might also try another flavor and see if it's just the Menthol Ice that has this issue.

I tend to use the mini tanks more than the Triton tanks. I like the flavor a bit better in them for whatever reason. And they are low maintenance. They burn through the juice but that's another preference of mine. Would rather vape fresh juice than what has been sitting in the tank cooking. YMMV.

I havent used the mini-tanks and have no idea, but maybe someone who is expereinced with them can answer this.

What is the coil resistance in the mini?

Green, I assume you are using the standard 2.2 to 2.4 Ohm coils that came with the start kit?

Funny you should ask. I ran Two on an ohmmeter. One came in @ 2.46ohm. The other came in @ 2.88ohm. So, between 2.00 and 3.00ohm is a good bet.

That is a very wide margin.

I have 3 mini tanks, all about 5 or 6 months old. One reads 2.7, the other 2 are 2.6.

But these numbers aren't equivalent to the Triton coils. (2.2 to 2.4 on my meter). The mini still hits hotter. I haven't deconstructed a mini yet. I'm guessing a different diameter wire, different diameter coil wrap, different number of windings. Could be a different metal. Any of this affects the vape. There's too many variables, and this is all conjecture.

Suffice to say, the mini hits hotter, regardless of resistance measurements.

Same here. When I ordered my triton I also ordered the 2.6-2.8 coils and switched the one that came in the triton out when I received it.If the minis vape hotter you would think the lower resistance coils of the tritons would give you the flavor strength of the mini.Since the higher resistance coils for the triton vape cooler. If we're to go off temp.I'm still new to this but I tend to think it's the draw. The tritons are airy compared to the minis and I too taped up one of the holes on the triton tank to reduce this.I usually vape Coolmist and it's all good in my minis. For my triton I mix it with subzero to get the flavor I'm after.

That's all I got on this, being new I'm still trying to figure it out for myself.

Well I took advantage of the sale and ordered some lower ohm coils for the triton along with a few more mini tanks, juice, etc. I'll report back when the new coils arrive and I swap one out.

Also I did notice this with Kringles as well. Filled one of the big tanks with it and the flavor just isn't quite as potent as it is in the minis

maybe the mini hits hotter because the coil is closer to the mouth piece? no idea, I've never tried mini, but I know a triton tank is a nice warm vape compared to a bottom coil.

I suspect that is part of it, plus being a smaller size and such, it radiates heat off slower, so it retains a lot of it.. for the chain vape.
