ok then .. I see best charger best batteries ..cr123A ...
What would be the BEST charger for CR2s ? I am guessing there are not any 6 volt batteries PERIOD .. or even 5 volt that would fit in our PVs

I use the Ultrafire WF-138 for CR-2 3.0V: DealExtreme: $11.54 UltraFire 3.0V/3.6V CR123A Charger it has a selectable voltage 3.0 or 3.6 and is sized for RCR123A/16340. If you put it in 3.0V mode and stick the rare earth magnets onto the CR-2 3.0V batt it works great for that. I got this because I don't trust the Since brand cheapie charger normally used for CR2. This charger should not be used for the Tenergy RCR123A Li-Ion though, those are special and need a special Tenergy charger.

Could you elaborate on this? Why would one do this?

The WF-138 charger is sized for 16340, so its battery slots are 34 mm long. CR2 batteries are 27 mm long (they are also known as 15270's). To make the connection in the charger, you need 7mm of some kind of spacer material. Rare earth magnets are conductive and easy to stick on the end of a battery, so it's a fairly common practice to use them. I bought 100 of them for 6 bucks from DX: DealExtreme: $5.96 Super-Strong Rare-Earth RE Magnets (8mm / 100-Pack) Suitable for Extending 18650/CR123A Batteries

You don't have to do this, I just had read alot of comments about the flimsy build of the Since brand chargers and figured the WF-138 would be handy since it will also charge 16340's at 3.6V. I already have 4 battery chargers, 2 cell chargers, and 2 bluetooth headset chargers on my desk, so I opted for a 2-in-1 device with a bit better build quality.

Aah. I just bought a couple of aluminum spacer blocks that do this.

That'll work. I like the magnets because they're handy. The Tenergy 18650's i use don't have a button top, so I use a single magnet on them too, otherwise they are a pain to charge because the contact isn't 100% there in the trustfire TR-001 charger i use for them.

I am also planning to make a magnetic knife rack out of them too :D

Here's a good $8.81 All-in-One charger for 10430/10440/14500/16340 /17670/18650/CR123A

DealExtreme: $8.81 TrustFire All-in-One Charger (for 10430/10440/14500/16340 /17670/18650/CR123A)

I am no expert and hope some of the more knowledgeable members will jump in here.

I have looked at this one and have a concern. If you read the reviews it appears to continue a trickle charge after it shows green. I don't know if this is really an issue but have read these batteries shouldn't be trickle charged.

Any thoughts from the rest of the members?
