I am no expert and hope some of the more knowledgeable members will jump in here.

I have looked at this one and have a concern. If you read the reviews it appears to continue a trickle charge after it shows green. I don't know if this is really an issue but have read these batteries shouldn't be trickle charged.

Any thoughts from the rest of the members?

Bob

I have the charger in question, the TR-001. I have not put a multimeter in there to see if there is a trickle charge after the cutoff voltage is reached, but I've used this charger w/ protected trustfire 14500's for 2 months and i'm still on the same 3 14500's. I routinely will put a battery on charge before going to bed and when I wake up it's already been done for several hours. If it is trickle charging I haven't noticed any impact on the battery life yet. I've also used this w/ protected Tenergy 18650s and unprotected no-name 18650 that I ripped out of a laptop, it seems to get the job done. If you left a battery in there for a few weeks maybe it would have some effect?

You may or may not have good luck with this one. Got mine yesterday, three weeks after ordering and only one side charges(batteries from same order shipped a week later then the charger). Well it looks like that is what is happening anyway because the left side LED stays green all the time. It does flash red on occasion when inserting batteries but goes right back to green. Tried bending the contact a little to make a better contact but no go. I am hoping that there is not a loose wire inside causing this as it might be a fire hazard. Using a volt meter on the left side shows no voltage while the right side does show 4.20 volts without batteries. I read no reviews that said anything about one not working but just my luck mine won't charge.

After some fiddling and disassembly I can see that there are springs used to hold the sliding contacts. While one is short and tight one is over stretched and is very loose but still should work. At least I found that there are no wires inside so I can at least charge my batts one at a time. To bad I am using three for mods at all times so I will run out of charged batts at some point.

All these chargers work great. Thing about cheep crap from China is just that. At the price you get it for order a couple. Same with the batts. Some come and are toast. Just the way its is when us Americans want cheap crap instead of quality American made. But what can you expect out of cheap slave labor.

As for me I have been lucky. Out of 12 CR2, I have 8 left that work ( starting to die now after charging daily for 6-7 mos and used in -15-20deg temp)

Chargers are also holding up. Don't have the models cuz I am packing right now. It's just the regular CR2 charger and Utrafire multiple charger wf- something I think
