Hi All,

I have been following the threads about CC theft with interest and some fear.

I come to ECF because the folks who run it do a great job of keeping me informed and of keeping posters within the guidelines. I have also felt that the suppliers listed here come with a bit more credibility because of this oversight.

So, I am asking the ECF staff and the suppliers here to please speak up on the apparent increase of compromised credit cards. Can you tell me how prevalent you think theft is? Also, can you talk about what steps you are taking to keep my information safe and what steps you would suggest that I take.

I am posting this in the General Discussion section so that more people will see the thread, but I ask that forum members please not respond.

Thanks in advance.

Actually, if a company finds out they have been compromised, under federal law here in the states- they have to announce it, and make sure customers know exactly what kind of data was stolen.
