Trying to get the forum more active for GLV owners and people looking to purchase one. Please give your own experience with your GLV and which one you own or want to own. Mine is on order as you can see in one of my other threads. I ordered the black 5V with the laser etching on it. I hope this works. If not at least I tried. LOL

This may be unfair for me to leave a post here but I would like to give my honest opinion, and help get this thread going. The GLV IMO Is an all around great PV. At first there were some issues with buttons going bad ,and a few issues with threads being stripped. I found a new button ,and have had 0 GLV's returned for button issues since then. The thread issue we have worked out by going with a stronger aluminium ( strength of steel), and also that issue was only with a few 510 models ...never seen an 801 or 901 GLV with striped threads. The other issue I had was that the batteries were fitting verytight ...I have that mostly worked out too. I have had a lot of mods and have built a few as well, but by far the GLV is the best PV that I have owned. It works every time I pick it up, and It takes a beating and keeps on going. The GLV is dependable and makes great vapor.

I have had 2 GLV 5v's and I love them. I have had a couple of issues with the atty connectors and the little rubber washer holding the positive connector in place without slipping down the tube. However I use an adapter so I dont take the atty off the threads any longer making this issue a non issue for me.

Overall a very reliable device that I have had a long time and use all the time!

...well there's always that person who comes along and inserts perceived complications into available poll answers, right?? Guess that's me today! :p "Best" can be subjective I reckon, depending on what one's primary criteria is/was. On the same day I discovered the miraculous existence of vaping, I discovered the mind-boggling fact that :mad:They:mad: are trying as hard as they can to take it away from us. So first order of biz for me was to get a very simple, all-mechanical device in my arsenal, that I might even be able to keep running all by my technically-uninclined self indefinitely. So in that case I was defining "best" as simplest with fewest possible things that could need fixing, and chances I could do so.

HOWEVER if we're defining "best" by the vape experience/vape qualities/ergonomics the device provides, which is probably how it's meant in the poll lol, then yes, my GLV is the best I have! :D

Mine is a circa-December 510 unit so there's been the occasional atty/carto post contact issue, but Jay offered multiple remedies for making it a non-issue, and has also offered on his own to put in the new style button. :thumb: (Haven't had any problems with the original button to date tho.) Guess I don't know if it could actually be a soft thread thing since like Doots, I've almost always left an adapter in place (carto adapter), so there don't seem to be any visible thread changes anyway.

Here's a copy 'n paste of some of what I wrote about my GLV after receiving it:

I'm pleased to have had a GLV in my hand since yesterday afternoon (literally!! ;-)). The secret to that was grabbing one from the "Body Only" ready-to-ship stash right after the last stock update was posted. Then ship time was speedy.

I want to report how much I'm loving this thing and how much FUN I'm having with it! I got the 5V 510 style, and so far have briefly dripped with 510 atty as well as 901 atty via altsmoke's 510 to kr808d/carto adapter (fits 901 also); but as intended, my mainstay is that adapter with cartos. And just as anticipated from the legendary 5V, it's all been downright otherworldly!! :D

The GLV is also just so fun to hold/use, or even just gaze at lol. I got it in green, and to those of you who think one of the other colors is more attractive, I'm sorry to inform you that you're simply wrong. ;-) No, it's not a matter of opinion, you're just plain wrong. But now get over it and enjoy! Seriously, the color is gorgeous and rich, and I'm sure the others 'render' just as beautifully. (However, at this time of year, it would be hard to beat festive X-mas tree green adorned with a merry red carto hat!) I'm also amongst those who do like the GLV logo etching, and that's coming from someone who's a fan of subtlety and understatement in design.

Obviously it's very early in the game for me and my GLV, but the prognosis so far is very good! :thumb: Between having such a cool, unique shape and button placement; offering smashing color choices; and offering the revered 5V, I'd expect the GLV to be loudly proclaimed from the mountaintops of ECF! I can't imagine that it won't be eventually, as long as it shows itself to also hold up well over time.

Well, this GLV has rarely left my hand since it first rang my bell yesterday afternoon (and ring my bell it did!), but one of the times it does so is when I'm typing... So in other words, I'll be running along now! :D (Hmmm, it sure would be nice to have one of these pups in the teensy, supply-extending 3.7V too... Uh oh, I fear the chances of me keeping that notion out of my head now are not strong!)

Thank you for your input about the GLV. "Best" can be subjective depending on one criteria about PV's you are correct. I am just trying to get an overall idea of what people think about their GLV and I will be giving my input as soon as I get it. Hopefully next week. Fingers crossed. By the way I am getting mine in green also. I think its the best color and it is also the color of my favorite NFL team the Eagles. It makes me ecstatic to see people starting to post on this forum more and more.

Well I'm order #159, a new gloss white body with a 510. I'm super excited to get it. I have been vaping on a RN4081 and its more than disappointing with the supplied carts.:( So the GLV will have to be good to keep me interested in vaping, my fingers are crossed!:D

I don't think you could have made a better decision for increasing the chances of that; 5V is as good as it gets in maaaaany opinions including mine (and I'd guess that most of those who haven't said so, actually just haven't gotten to try it yet). And really, the GLV is just plain fun to use. :)

(Hmmm, maybe I should keep in mind that Jay does offer other voltages besides 5V! :p Well regardless, the fun-ness and great ergonomics will apply! And other good stuff. After all, I'm still very able to enjoy other voltages myself.)

Cool avatar by the way! :D

I've had my GLV for about three months now. As far as vape quality, it is the best mod I've ever had...although, it is also the only mod I've ever had. :)

I have had to have Jay replace caps for me twice due to stripped threads (I have the 510 connector), and have had issues with attys burning out quite quickly. The atty death rate is probably related to my vape style...I like to take long drags, sometimes too long it seems. :)

I have to give Jay kudos for his awesome customer service, too! You won't find a nicer vendor to deal with. Get a GLV today, you won't be dissapointed!

Do you know the ohm rating on the attys you are using? If you are using regular 510 attys they are rated at like 2.5ohms and they will burn out fast. I use 3 - 3.5ohm attys for 5V and around 4 - 4.5 ohm attys for 6V. I take long drags on my attys also and dont burn through them at all really. I have fried a couple "stock" 510 attys using them at 5V and higher. I should be getting my GLV in about a week or two and can't wait.

I am not using the HV attys...I've never tried them. I guess I just assumed with the higher resistance would come reduced vapor...is this not correct? I bought a 5v device so I could vape at 5v, just thought the HV attys might reduce the vapor.

Not really no. You use HV attys so that they wont fry as easily with HV mods. Using a "stock" 510 at 2.5 will not last as long at 5V as a 3.5ohm 510. I use 3.5ohm at 5V and the TH and vapor are unreal. I also vape at 6V and 7.4V so I also need XHV attys so. How often to do fry an atty at 5V? I have been using the same 3.5 ohm atty for over a month with no issues and I am a heavy vaper. I have used 2.5 ohm ones before but it tastes a little burnt to me.

I love my HV attys I have. They work great and last longer than regular 510's IMO. I have also tried LR 510s with bad results so far but only have tried them from one company. If you vape at 6V or up the HV attys make all the difference. My batteries seem to last a little longer even using a 3.5 ohm attys at 5V but it could just be in my head.
