That is just beautiful, simple , elegant. Didnt know you were such a talented artisan. I wish tips like that were available.

 Thanks Anavid! Of course it would probably look a bit better if I had your photography skills! It would be really hard to bring something like this to the market for a reasonable price. Jadeite is really hard stuff and I've put about 8 hours of solid work into it and ruined several diamond-tipped bits drilling it out. Granted I'm a novice, but the stone can be fairly pricey too.

I have a pair of beautiful jade/jadeite bowls that were given to me years ago. The stone is just amazing and its thin enough that you can see thru the stone on the bowls. They are supposed to be very old, from china, all I know is that they are just so beautiful when I place them in front of an open window and get to see the light shine thru them and send all the subtle tones on fire.

PS, send it my way and I will photograph it for you, LOL.

I carved this one out of translucent Guatemalan jade. I need to give it a final polish, then it'll really shine.

(That's true stone, not tru-stone ;-))

I am a bit of an artist myself... but not in stonework!
That is just down right awesome! You know, you could probably make a bit of money selling your tips on here to ECF'ers.... I know I would gladly give you my money for a hand-carved stone tip!! :toast:

Thanks DJ Big D! This one was a labor of love, I'm afraid, mixed with equal parts frustration and pain... For the foreseeable it will be a one-of-a-kind, at least until all the cuts and bruises heal!
