The Achilles is in the house!

So very pretty, the engraving is lovely. Just took it apart and the threading puts my Kayfun to shame. Doing a quick wash, no oil or gunk visible. Guess I know what I'll be doing this morning.

More later....

Lori, I remembered I was going to photo my single coil, Veritas setup next time I rewicked. This is 28 gauge, 10 wraps, 2.0mm ID, 1.7 ohms. The coil is starting to age as you can see by the separation but it gives you the idea. Next time I will make the top leg a wee bit longer as it is not perfectly centered in front of the air hole. I'll be sure to check it next time before securing the top nut. But it is 80% in front so I suspect it will be negligible improvement if any.

Easy to set up (which is what I was looking for). Holds about 2ml, makes pretty much no noise at all. A little harsh on the throat hit (that's the nic level right?). And best of all no clouds! Very stealth-y. Just a medium wisp of vapor. Nice-for-me tight draw. The flavor is very strong, actually thought I had juice in my throat and licked my lips just to be sure I didn't.

I realize my preferences are not in line with most vapers. Which I assume is why this dripper is not more popular. So far it suits me perfectly. Obviously I need more time with it to develop a firm opinion.

I watched a video of the clone and it looks to be very similar, except the base of mine is engraved with "to my friend!".

Pretty happy so far.

That thing looks right up my alley too.

Lori, here is the wick stage. I'm using Japanese cotton... (sorry for the pix...photobucket is so inconsistent!)

This is great, Bronze. I was interested to see how you did your wick. Your coil is just like the ones I did. With duals, the coils are offset from the airflow hole, so I don't worry about getting my singles precisely in front of it either. I should try using a shorter wick though. Looks like yours is a bit less than I've been using. Good to know it will work well with less before I try it. Thank you! :)

I think you're right Lori. It doesn't have to be directly in front of the coil. It's creating a wide airflow field so I'm sure it is capturing it just fine...as it does with the duals. I'm thinking the length of the wick is not so important but I haven't experimented enough to say with any authority. Some people make single coils vertically. Not sure I see the advantage in that.

So you've finally built a dual coil in your Veritas?

Not yet. I love it with singles, and haven't ventured beyond that. For duals, I have my juice devouring Magma's. I'm all set.
