That was a really good old man nap, until Mamaw came home from the grocery store. Nothing comes up our driveway without the mutts letting the western hemisphere know about it....
OK, so I am also still using A-1 Kanthal from Temco Industries, as I always have. Same seven and eight wraps on the same 3/32 drill bit. About the only difference is the device - 28g for my Grand and Woodvil, 30g for the VV Grand and ProVari. That way I get around 1.5 from the 28g and 2.0 from the 30g. Same micro coil as always. When I dry burn, they still heat from the center out. I do dry burn more often than I used too, single horizontal coils in the Veritas and Kayfuns have made me stay with a coil a little longer (maybe a month). But I still am hesitant to go above 10 watts with these Kayfuns.

Papaw, at 1.5 - 2.0 ohms, I can see where pushing over 10 - 11 Watt would give you a burnt taste. I'm presently running the KF V4 with a 1.4ohm, 30g horizontal coil and 10.5 is the max I can go before getting burnt taste. This is with Clay's, Cognac Infused 60/40 PG/VG @ 12mg nic.

I have a similar setup on the KFL; 1.6ohm 30g; Clay's Rum Rebellion (same PG/VG and nic levels as above) and hd to drop it down to 9 - 9.5 W. Both tanks were topped off as well, but not full - maybe 1.5 tanks on the same Rayon wick. Still getting fair flavor out of both and I'm getting close to the bottom on each.

People go over 10 watts on their Kayfuns all the time. In fact more are over 10 watts than under.
I must be one of the exceptions to that. I don't go much over 9 w unless I'm running close to 1ohm, or less.
I'm pretty sure you vape even lower wattage than I do, Bronze.

But.. but... Loosely and Rayon does not go together. Rayon needs to be tight in the coil because it collapses, unlike cotton which expands to fill the coil. Once the Rayon collapses, it will move away from the coil, creating a hot spot.

Yup , I agree , I'd get as much rayon into the coil as possible without it bunching up .

Me three or is it more now...

I usually twist my wicking material tightly, feed a needle threader through the coil, and pull the doubled over tightly twisted wick through until it's so tight I have to keep the coil in place with my thumbnail. That doesn't seem to work either.....

I usually wet and roll mine fairly tight, but it is possible to go from one extreme to the other...

Pretty close Chak. I'm vaping DF at 8.2 watts and CAT at 8.6 watts (I once vaped these at 6 - 7 watts). I think I can go a little higher with the CAT. Seems that juice likes it a little warmer.

How is Diesel?
He actually was poisoned somehow this past saturday. Out of nowhere he couldnt stand up without falling over and started ...... all over himself, myself and my couch. His tempature also skyrocketed to over 105

We had to take him to the emergency vet where the could only verify that he was being poisoned by something but everything they tested came back negative.

About $1000 later along with 3 bags of IV fluids, some activated charcoal and 2 days of rest he is getting back to normal.

Im not sure what it could have been as he is very rarely out of our site. We even go out with him when he does his business.

It was a pretty scary weekend thats for sure

Heres a pic after the gave him 1 of the 3 bags of fluid. When they were done the poor guy looked like a camel

Poor Diesel.. any jealous neighbours that don't like him? Goa had a notorious reputation for neighbours poisoning other neighbours dogs so that they could steal coconuts etc from their fields. Just something to watch for.

Thats the only thing I can think of, Dusty. Ive had issues with one of the neighbors I share a back fence with. Everyone of my other neighbors love him. Im going to have to pay a little more attention to my back yard.

I really hope no one purposefully poisoned him. If I find that out theres about a 100% chance that I will go to jail

Yep I just dont know what it could have been. I looked everywhere for any signs of anything he could have eaten.

The vet kept telling me to come clean about what kind of "my drugs" that he got into. She also pulled katie aside and told her Diesels life depends on her not covering for me. I almost lost my mind. The vet is lucky I was so worried about Diesel instead of what she was accusing me of. Aleve is the only medication in my house and its in a closet about 6' off the ground

Only liked your post to indicate I feel for you, bro. That is one scary story - poor Diesel. Glad to hear he's coming round, though. I think I mentioned before that my last dog got poisoned as well (we think it was a snake bite) and wasn't so lucky - she didn't see her second birthday.

I know it's probably too cold up there in Michigan for snakes, yet - unless they happened to get into the house.

Take care and hope he's 100% soon.

Well, I know that could be maddening. But I am willing to bet your vet has run across this same problem before only to find out the pet got into their owners stash. It's a tough spot for the vet to be in and if you take it from the perspective that she is only concerned about the dog then it will be easier to accept. Seems you did that.

I'll try to dig up that email my sis sent me about her dog and what it got into. I'll pass it onto see if it helps your situation.

Thanks man Id appreciate it.

You're right, thats exactly why she kept questioning me. The vet tech could tell how mad I was getting and apologized for her. She said most of the time the drug test comes back positive for common prescription stuff and no one ever admits it off the bat.

Thanks Chak! I appreciate it good buddy!

So youre liking the v4? I got one at launch but ended up selling it. It was collecting dust. I just cant seem to get back into kayfuns anymore. My colection of auth. Kfls is down to 2. Ill probably be sending those out to new owners soon too.

My go to atties right now are my Veritas and Derringers
