Rayon is cello cotton right? Cello is what I'm talking about. I'm not sire Robin. It just feels fake. Don't like the flavor I get from it especially in the beginning.
Standard cotton twine has and will always be the best flavor IMO. Eko is the best for sub and dripping which is what I do. Anything that can't dry burn just Dont work for me.
I have a dripper that sat for a week with a pretty clean liquid in it I opened up the other day. The cello looked disgusting.
Nothing I say has any proof its just a feeling and I hate it for that ;)

Maybe that is the key in the difference between one liking it and one not liking it. When I read of people liking it, it is usually in conjuction with "normal" vaping. Not liking it is usually in conjuction with dripping and sub'ing. ? ? ?

See Robin, there will never be consensus on anything. I remember X posting on this thread some 8 - 10 months ago saying after all the wicking adventures he went on he finally came to the conclusion that silica was the easiest and most effective wick. I always admired X's opinions because he was always on the cutting edge of the latest and greatest of everything. And yet he settled on silica. :)

Did i ever tell you X has his own juice joint?

I use Rayon in drippers, and cotton in KFL's, so there goes your theory on that. :D

How hard is it to get the rayon into the coil? Does it twist up easy?

cut a length of rayon about 2" long, pinch about enuf rayon from the main clipping ( about the same "volume" that would be about as thick as a Bic pen) pull that section from the main clipping. Place pulled section into the palm of your left hand and place the palm of your right hand over the left hand, gently roll the rayon in your palms ( as if trying to make a Playdoh log). Check Rayon "log" for consistancy and density. Once the log has been formed, pinch the end of the log and twist firmly to create a pointed tip small enuf to insert into your coil. Pull rayon thru coil, it should be able to slide thru coil with a tad bit of resistance. Once the rayon has been pulled 1/2 way into coil, hold both ends of the wick and move back and forth several times about 3/16 of an inch both directions to set the fibers. Clip off the pointy end and excess from other side..... finish your topper assembly and juice that puppy up... for 3.1 users you may find it easier to dampen the wick a bit before you put the chimney sleeve on the base to hold the " rabbit ears" up while putting the sleeve in place.

    feels fake?? ummm like synthetic?
hmmm you have gotten used to the wet Tshirt initial blast from cotton... Rayon doesnt give that wet tshirt taste do you think you are so used to it being there that the lack of it is messin with your mind?

how clean was the rayon wick before you let it sit for a week?? I have a R91 that was put together and loaded with Java Smooth and rayon... sat in the holder for about 3 weeks and decided to dump the coffie flavor. When I opened it up the wick was still white as it could be considering it was soaked with java smooth.

I use it for both applications... in my RSST, the 3.1, Heron for "normal" vaping, and for my not so "normal" vaping... its in the Big and little Tobh, Magma, and Stillaire which are handling 1.0 to .25 ohms at the moment...

sometimes people amaze me to no end... was over in the APV sections and reading about all the people who have these all copper mod with solid silver + pins and buttons..... and they are spending a small fortune on these things... just to reduce voltage drop to a minimum... but have they even considered that the negative and positive surfaces of the actual battery are just plain ole steel?? Kinda like putting a 3" fire hose on a 3/4" faucet......

Or a chain is only as strong as the weakest link?

Cotton twine never had a taste for me longer then half a tank.
Same for the cello but one thing I've noticed is most people love the flavor immediately and I don't..
I'll try to get a photo of the wick in my Vulcan in a bit and show what I mean. Reminds me of spider web nastiness.

I'm here daily bronze. Y'all talk a lot.

Great pics Chak. Sam, Chak's is exactly how I positioned my wick with cotton (before rayon), except my coil is offset not 90.

    Thanks Bridget.
Whoa! what fluffy Rayon you got there! I've never tried to pull the stuff through dry, or cotton for that matter. Well, I think I tried to do it with cotton, but it yanked my coil all out of whack. So I always sluice them up with juice before threading coil.

I'm thinking a couple things, one is that I bet mine are easier to trim since the juice keeps the fiber together - one snip and I'm done. Two I'm wondering if you get better juice flow with it fluffed like that, not that I've ever had any problems or dry hits with mine.

Rayon wick, 1.8ohm 2mm coil. I've got 3 setups running exactly the same.
