Yes, the 3.1 on the ZNA. 0.8 ohm ribbon with rayon, ZNA is set to 14.8W and the Voltage readout is 3.7v and 75% charge on the bat. I had it up to 16W in the previous tank and Gaia was so delicious, I vaped it dry! Now with a new wick Gaia's tasting burnt.

Speaking hardware and electrical stuff - I was on here last night about 10ish and there was still a light rain coming down from a storm that had just come through. All of a sudden a hear a loud pop and caught a flash from the corner of my eye. Turned my head to look out the window and everything is dark as usual, can barely see the street through the foliage. Then FLASH, POP! Whoa, that is TOO close! Somewhere between the house and the pavilion.

I grab a flash light and head outside to take a look - just as I walk out the door there's another big flash in front of me and I hear the breaker pop at the main. Upon inspection and verified this morning I see one of the four lines going out to the pavilion is hanging loose in a tree. One of the branches is pushing the other lines over. I figure with all the wind we've had lately the branch had been rubbing against the wires till it finally wore through the insolation letting then shorted when the rain got in.

The electrician is coming out to fix it this morning.

So long as your doghouse is OK.:)

Wow! You have to deeply respect power like that. I knew a guy who was a linesman for the local power company. He said everyday he did stuff that put him up close with thousands (hundreds of thousand?) volts of current. Yikes! Glad you and yours are okay.

And I've had identical experiences with new wicks not handling the higher power settings. It's maddening because you get that one wick that tastes like heaven. The. The quest begins to make a wick like that again.

Chak that doesn't sound good..glad you have someone coming to fix it

Yes, indeed, IG & Lori. One end of the wire that broke is melted to the other three and still rubbing against the tree branch. There's another breaker at the pavilion which is turned off now. The other end hanging from the tree is heading back to the house. Lucky it wasn't laying round on the wet ground.

Bronze, the doghouse is safe! :D

Hello everyone. After trying several builds on my Magma clone, I still can't find one that allows me to vape my stash of 70PG juice on it. I've tried higher ohm coils, wider build (3mm), lowering volts/watts on my batteries, but no dice. So I decided to retry every Aspire tank I had laying around, and to my surprise, this time around I'm actually enjoying the vape on most of them (CE5, Mini Vivi, Maxi, T3). So with this renewed faith in tanks I decided to order a Nautilus Mini, which I'll be trying out soon on my new iStick. :) Any other good tanks/clearos you guys can recommend?

Did you ever get your KFM built ?

Not yet, dude. :( I'm trying to master the Magma before I move on to the KFM. I have watched several tutorials on youtube already, and the part that makes me nervous is making the wick the perfect size. It seems every video has a different approach to it. I do notice there is less "airspace" around the coil in the KFM than in the Magma. Hopefully, that helps lower the harshness level in some way.

FYI, it has been overwhelmingly concluded that more is better when it comes to wicking the Kayfuns. Many of us have run experiments over the past few months and none of us were able to get dry hits using too much wick but we were able to get dry hits using too little. Blows the original theory out of the water. This applies toorganic cotton and Ko Gen Do.

Volt, I vape 70/30 too. No trouble with my drippers. Wish I knew what to tell you.

Got Vapes is selling a Kanger Turbo tank. 6ml capacity, quad coil. I think it is their answer to the Nautilus. Looks interesting.

Kanger Aerotank Turbo Quad Coil 6ml Stainless & Pyrex [gv-KangerTurboQuad-Clear] - $39.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

That seems a bit too large for me. I don't want anything bigger than 2ml, since the juice inside the tanks slowly gets tainted. So the higher the capacity, the nastier that last mls will taste like.

Three things come to mind as far as the Magma , have you tried going with a 2 ohm coil while adjusting your airflow and lowering power on your device at the same time ? The KFM should present no problems for you with a build in the 1.8 ohm to 2 ohm range , the Kayfun's aren't that picky as far as builds go , just follow Bronze's pictorial and don't overthink it .

Doesn't happen in a bottom coil Volt. Gravity feeds don't discern like top coils.

Yes, Sir. I have tried every variation I can think of. The thing about the airflow is that I like a decently tight draw, and even the tightest setting feels a bit airy to me (inside). I imagine dual coils could help in this regard. Can I run duals on my iStick, or is it the same as my MVP?

You know what? I'll attempt my first KFM build right now in real time. I'll report back. Thank you for the tips.

That's weird. In my experience with bottom coils, a bit of burned juice seeps back into the tank from the wick after every pull, so what's left inside keeps getting darker and darker.

I don't know what the ohm range is on an iStick but I would imagine it would work if you built 2 coils in the 3 ohm range giving you 1.5 ohms effective resistance , sounds like you need 32ga wire .

Okay, so I finally finished my first KFM build. A 1.9ohm coil with rayon at 3.9 volts. I'm vaping some 70pg juice with no problem as it doesn't come through as harsh as the Magma. I did have an issue trying to fill the tank with a syringe through the air hole (how it's shown in a tutorial), as the juice would spill out. Is there another way to fill it up? I had to blow out through the mouthpiece to get a bit of juice inside the tank. Also, how exactly does the airflow control work on these things? Just loosen the screw and rotate? Thanks in advance. BTW, rocking some Caramel Wild Wood in it right now and it tastes amazing.

Loosening the AFC screw lets more air in and loosens the draw , tightening the AFC screw tightens the draw but also pulls more juice in to the chamber . The easiest way to fill is to unscrew the topcap and fill it up , sometimes the chimney will loosen when you do that so check it before you put the topcap back on . You might get a little gurgle filling it that way but just turn your wattage up for a few hits to vape off the excess . Congrats Voltron , the KFM should mop up the floor with your clearomizers . :)

It's not as difficult as a lot of people make it out to be. Don't overthink it. I like to roll the cotton (or Rayon now) between my fingers till it feels and looks like it's about the same size as the hole in the coil. You can always take some off or add more depending on it it's too loose or too tight. It should slid through with some resistance, but not bunch up and wonk your coil out of shape. I put a finger nail on the end of the coil to help hold it in place.

Sorry, can't help you on the new clearomiser type tanks as I haven't used any since going to the KFL style. Good luck on you vape quest, bro. :2cool:
