So I just got a Velocity clone (after swearing off building forever [HASHTAG]#fail[/HASHTAG]) lol.

I would like to know what your set -ups are. Including size of coils/guage of wire/ohm reads/and wattage at which you are running.

Also temp control settings if applicable. Thanks!

ATM Running 28ga kanthal duals at 10-11 wraps with a 2.5ID which comes in at 1.1ohm vaping at 22w. Direct air flow just slightly open, indirect fully closed. I'm a mtl vaper and get a nice thick, slightly warm, flavorful vape off this build. Really enjoying this build at the moment.

My first build was 24 g mad rabbit parallel dual coil .08 (I think) my ohm reader is a lol off. Second was parallel 22g mad rabbit at .06 and the current build is a dual staple helix using 26 g kanthal .5 ribbon and 36 nicrome reading .08 always on my ragnarok with Samsung 25r. Def my fav dripper as of this moment.

You picked a very good rda @FishingTiff. I'm running 32 round 26 dual claptons in mine 2mm id 8 wraps per coil comes out at ~.5. Vaping it at 80 watts.

Your running under .1 ohm on a mechanical single battery mod? Must be typo as that should just explode.

No it's no typo however it isn't the safest thing to do so I wouldn't advise anyone to try it. I am being as safe as you can be but it still has a big risk

50amps on a 20 amp battery... That can't be good for the battery let alone safe. Does battery get hot at all? Why not get a dual cell mech?

Heat is an issue after only a short time if I chain vape. One or two quick hits and only about three seconds each I don't get heat except from the atomizer itself. If and or when I feel heat it comes apart immediately..... I guess I would fall in the cloud chasing class of vaping and that means (to me anyway) single 18650 tube style mech. I take a big risk doin this I know and I highly advise anyone interested to study safety and know the risks.

Just curious .... how does it hit at 60watts. My mods all max out at 60. Inhave 24 guage on hand. What if I change the ID to 2.4

I have been running ti wire. Enjoying it. But want to explore options.

Nickel, 26g 12 wraps 2.5mmID spaced (wrapped around a 6-32 machine screw) .1Ω, rDNA40 @ 40 watts with temp set to 460F.

Tried different builds, but with 40 watts being the max I have available, this is the best build for me, all things considered. I'm not complaining, it works great and doesn't hit TP, in fact, unless I'm chain vaping it rarely drops off the 40 watts during my draw.

In my other Velocity I run dual (5 wraps each) 24g kanthal 3.0mm ID spaced. The resistance is .25 and I run it at around 75watts on my Sig 150. This is the setup I use the least, but it is nice to just chuck some clouds from time to time.

If I wanted to try a single coil build, would I be able to put it centered, above the posts, or would I risk shorting against the top when putting the cap back on? Maybe at the level of the post holes, but crossing from one side of the posts to the other? Something like...

You can but try to build a big(ish) id coil so the open ends of the coil are facing the air intake.

Unless you prefer it angled just make sure it dont stick over the deck and you'll be fine with regards to the topcap.

Sorry so late, I have long work days. It hits fine at 60w. The problem lies with the ramp up time. It takes a few seconds for the coils to get hot. Maybe you could try less wraps? I did 12 because 1) I don't like going lower than .4, it's too hot. And 2) surface area. If you are looking for more suface, then yeah, do 2.4 or 2.0 ID. I always play around on Steam Engine to find out, before I build.
