Letter from Canada

Hi

I made a small order with HG for 2x 30ml liquid bottles. This shipment was refused by the customs and I received a letter from Health Canada stating that the shipment "Violates sections C.01.045 - Importation of a prescription (Schedule F) drug by a person other than a practitioner, registered pharmacist or foreign resident visiting Canada." and as result had been denied entry.

Should I be worried about this? Am I in trouble? Please advise if you have received a simliar letter from Health Canada.

I'm waiting on a similar letter for a juice order from beginning of August. Is that the whole letter? Is there a phone number? Did they say what they are going to do with the package now? You need to contact Health Canada and ask them to ship it back to the vendor. Then contact vendor and work out to get your money back or for them to re-ship.

I have had a similar letter also just seems the reasoning a little different. My question is are there indeed different letters they can send depending on there moods circumstances country of departure ect. Is there a place we can see the latest rulings so we can at least know what the current ruling is. Just saying because according to mine his shouldn't have been refused mine said that under 3mths supply was ok would think that 60mls would be in that category.

Here is how it reads on Health Canada's website.

Nicotine and its salts, for human use, except
(a) in natural substances;
(b) in the form of a chewing gum containing 4 mg or less of nicotine per dosage unit;
(c) in the form of a transdermal patch with a delivery rate of 22 mg or less of nicotine per day;
(d) in a form to be administered orally by means of an inhalation device delivering 4 mg or less of nicotine per dosage unit; or
(e) in the form of a lozenge containing 4 mg or less of nicotine per dosage unit

Nicotinic acid when sold in
(a) a modified-release oral dosage form that provides 500 mg or more per dosage unit or per daily dose; or
(b) an immediate-release oral dosage form that provides more than 500 mg per dosage unit or per daily dose

Any loopholes?

Ok then if i have an order looked at with 7 bottles two are shipped to me with 0nic others are taken then the next guy has all his order taken even the ones marked 4mg then yah seems like there is no set law.

This part has me curious for debate because everything I have read (FDA report?) states that you only get about 1/10th of the nicotine that is actually stated on the bottle hence 18mg would equate to 1.8mg making it legal. I know, grasping at straws.

C.01.045. (1) Subject to subsection (2), no person other than
(a) a practitioner,
(b) a drug manufacturer,
(c) a wholesale druggist,
(d) a registered pharmacist, or
(e) a resident of a foreign country while a visitor in Canada,
shall import a Schedule F Drug.
(2) Any person may import a Schedule F Drug listed in Part II of Schedule F if the drug is imported in such form or so labelled that it could be sold by that person pursuant to section C.01.046.
SOR/93-407, s. 4.
C.01.046. A person may sell a drug listed or described in Part II of Schedule F to the Regulations, without having received a prescription therefor, if
(a) the drug is in a form not suitable for human use; or
(b) the principal display panel of both the inner label and the outer label carries, in both official languages, the statement “For Veterinary Use Only/Pour usage vétérinaire seulement” or “Veterinary Use Only/Usage vétérinaire seulement”, immediately following or preceding the brand name, proper name or common name, in type size not less than one-half as large as the largest type on the label.

So if that is why they say they can take my juice can I say its for my cat lol. Thats a stretch for yah.

It's why many of us stick to retailers we know understand our predicament. Ship it "canuck" style.

I know Born we are lucky to have great suppliers that will help us out and have giant juice graveyards we can hit. I worry about those who play it close and a small seizure would mean they are back on the smokes if they don't have the money to reorder.

my grave yard gets pretty scary lol... im frankenstienin up weird abominations all the time. Im lucky to never had a juice related letter yet. On a semi related not, HaLo sent me some torque up, and is moving towards making canada a regular shipping route. This we can all thank BorN for cause he gave me the sample and i started my mission

Ok I am guessing that this letter can be just ignored? I already got a refund from my supplier so money isn't an issue.

I for one am glad we have people like health canada, and the fda who are always looking out for our health.

Yeah, ignore the letter. Keep it for posterity, but its meaningless. Orders come and orders go. Theres no followup on them.
