I sent Paul Fetter an email.

Paul Fetter,

I'd say you pretty much covered it. Indeed; the FDA, their masters, and their sheep have been exposed.

Extensive research and studies (that the FDA Et al. won't acknowledge) have confirmed E Cigarettes are magnitudes safer than smoking. Six years on the market (worldwide), millions of consumers, and not one report of serious illness or injury; what scant FDA study can top that?

I'm an E Cigarette consumer. I tried an E Cigarette on December 6, 2009 and I haven't smoked a cigarette since. This after 40 years of smoking two packs a day. The improvement in my health (particularly my ability to breathe) has been nothing short of remarkable; that's proof enough for me.

One thing that I would add is there are benefits to nicotine as well. I'm not interested in giving nicotine up; I'm glad I can still get it (for now) less the smoke.

Thanks for your interests and an excellent article.

Bob

I think that was one of the best articles I have read anywere about e-cigs. I admit I am biased however. I'm a big fan of Lew Rockwell and I have e-mailed him back and forth for quit a few years now. In fact I asked him around a month or so ago if he would get someone to do a write up on them. I explained the major issues and suggested that he check out ECF.

Thanks for posting this.

Paul wrote an excellent article from the perspective of the FDA versus E Cigarettes. It would be nice if he did a follow up article covering the Anti-Smoking Community's stance on tobacco Harm Reduction in general, E Cigarettes in particular.

Paul,

There's another front that plays heavily in the crusade against E Cigarettes; Anti-Smoking organizations. Seems the goal of these organizations is to wipe out any and all tobacco products not just the ones that produce smoke. They seem unwilling to grade the risks of tobacco products on a continuum; instead, lumping all tobacco products together as being equally harmful. They discourage smokers who can not or choose not to give up nicotine from trying far less harmful tobacco products such as E Cigarettes or Snus. Their all or nothing, quit or die, mentality is a big part of the problem; they influence public opinion, health care providers, and government officials with their rhetoric. Indeed, they have morphed into Anti-Tobacco organizations. They happily perpetuate (embellish) the FDA's disinformation.

You would think Anti-Smoking organizations would at least consider the potential of Tobacco Harm Reduction to accomplish in large part what their implied goal is (saving lives)? Of course, there as those who oppose tobacco on moral grounds; they also impart their influence.

Sound like a lead for an article; The E-cigarette vs. the Anti-Smoking (Tobacco) Organizations? lol

Take care,

Bob

Best article about e-cigs on the whole damn planet. A MUST read.

This statement pretty well summed it up:
"When confronted, they [FDA] use the argument that the devices need further testing. Hogwash I say. They are merely figuring out a way to regulate it, make money off it, and pass it off to their "approved" pushers".
