I have been told several different things from several different people and resources about warning against using Li-ion 3.7 volt batteries in series. Some have said the battery in question (18650 Tenergy 3.7 volt 1400 mAh) isn't equipped with the proper protection to be used in series with itself. Then I have heard the opposite and many other opinions about it. If you look right on the package itself it says in multiple places "For Pack Building". Doesn't that basically mean that it is made for connecting in series? Most battery packs are battery packs for higher voltage and connected in series right?

Those are Unprotected batteries. They need a protection circuit added while making the pack for them to be safe.

All you need is two protected Panasonics and you dont have to worry about adding protection. This site here has the best deal i have seen for 3100mah panosProtected Panasonic 3100mAh 18650 battery cell - Assembly made by Orbtronic
Amazon.com: TWO Panasonic 3100mAh Industrial NCR18650A Li-ion Rechargeable Battery - Most Powerful 18650 Battery on Planet Earth: Electronics
5 of them left here for cheaper.

The first link you gave me it said they were double protected but this link doesn't say anything about them being PCB protected. If I can find out for sure that they are I would would buy a couple. The green Panasonic 3100 mAh are the ones I am talking about here is the link.{Deleted link} I guess t i n y U R L links are not useable on this forum?

Ok. I would have bought them if they were protected. I'll get the black ones it says they are protected. From what I have found out so far the black ones are supposed to be one of the best batteries for mods so I will have to check them out. Thanks.
