I started with ecigs from the mall, saw the potential. Next I bought a Blu, thinking it would be better and was terribly disappointed! Then (about 7 months ago) I found ECF, discovered the 510 and found ecig happiness! After a few months, I was frustrated with the short(ish) battery life of the 510 and moved on to mods. I now have (or have owned) 2 Janty Sticks, a Prodigy V1 (V2 preordered), Protege, PS Passthrough and eGo arriving today.

The 510 is my trusty backup and I use the 510 atomizers on my Protege, Prodigy, Passthrough and, soon, my eGo. The problem with the 510 is battery life over time. I have about 15 standard 510 batteries, and *after months of heavy vaping*, they last for less time than it takes to charge them. I have a PCC as well, but over time, it wore out and now won't make a connection at all...

I was so happy with my Janty Stick as my primary device (for a period of about 4 months) that I donated my Prodigy v1 to a good cause and sold my passthrough. When the Janty Stick started to wear out about a month ago (keeping it in the pocket with my keys, button wearing off, juice leaking), I ordered another to replace it as well as the Protege for a backup. The Protege arrived with a bad switch and was sent back for replacement. A week after the new stick arrived, the old one finally died. I opened the new one, set it up and... nothing! I informed Janty and they told me to send them both in for warranty replacement (even the old, worn out one!) In the meantime I went back to the 510s, this time with a lot of experience under my belt!

First impressions back on the standard 510s were disbelief... The taste, throat hit and overall "vaping experience" are identical to the 3.7v 510 mods. For the first 5 minutes, I was blissfully back in vaping heaven (keep in mind these are old, worn out batteries)! Shortly thereafter, the performance began to degrade quickly. With my other battery charging, which takes about an hour and a half (remember, only 1 at a time for me) I began to panic again! =)

I rushed to order a 5 pack of the 510 MEGA batteries, a 5 battery "multicharger" and 5 more atomizers to match. They arrived two days ago and WOW! New batteries and a multicharger are the way to go! The batteries are only about double the capacity of the originals, but because they are new (not old and worn out) they are lasting amazingly well with no drop off in performance for many hours... Once they start to drop off, I just switch them out because I keep 2-3 with me. At night, I charge them all up and I am good to go!

Wow, this turned into a novel! Sorry! The point I am trying to make is that the 510 is an amazing device, their attys can be used on almost any mod (I go between 510s and 801s) and they make an excellent first ecig. A word of caution though, the batteries *will* degrade over time... Eventually getting to the point where they take longer to charge than they last. By this point, you will already have a much better idea of how everything works and how to proceed. My only suggestion would be to get a multicharger and at least 5 (I highly suggest manual & MEGA) batteries so that you are never left in the dark! For 2 days I was back on analogs while my 510s were charging (*one at a time!*) and I felt like I was going to vomit every time I took a drag... It had been 6+ months since my last full cigarette. I'm not shy to take a drag from a friends once every few weeks, but YUCK! that was NASTY! Never again!

The Protege arrived back this morning and will become my primary device for now, but the 5 mega batteries will stay charged in my kit for my next such emergency! If you are curious, the Protege (or Janty Stick, or any other 3.7v mod I have tried) is *nearly exactly* the same vaping experience as the first drag on a freshly charged, new 510 battery... The mods just seem to keep this "first drag" going for nearly a full day of heavy vaping, as well as without having to carry 2-3 new fully charged mega batteries around everywhere! I hope this helps!

p.s. The eGo just arrived! YAY!

Well it was your choice, and like you said you'll be able to use the stuff with a mod later, it's the right choice as long, as you are happy with it.

It would be great of you can get a refund, and you didn't lie you just made a good choice for your self, that what one should do informed choices are always the best.

And you got feedback from others, that the informed part then made the choice best for you, and I love my 510 great control over hit and vapor. :)

Just read over some of your earlier posts... A 510 is perfect for your "Do Over", but I don't suspect it will be your last ecig! My crystal ball sees... A Protege for extended battery life, a Janty Stick for USB charging anywhere (if your cellphone also charges via USB), an eGo because "I won't need to charge it very often", a Prodigy for 6v, a Chuck because... Oooh pretty! =) All within... a year. Trust me, it becomes an addiction! And it's easy to justify with all the money you save from tobacco!

LOL, in the end... I think my hubs suspects this, too. But since I've now gotten two e-cigs inside of a month, I'll definitely have to take a break for a bit to soothe his insane-ness about money.

He walked in on me doing 'cartridge surgery' on my Blu last night and said:

"Oh man. This is gonna be a whole thing now, isn't it?"

I just beamed at him :D <- Like that.

Except I am not green.

ZEE END.

Sallana, when you get the 510's, on your first few hits it will taste kinda weird no matter what you do. After a bit that will go away. Just take nice slow long pulls(don't try to smokethem like a cigarette) and you see just how wonderful the 510 truly is. It feels and taste just like an analog - atleast for me they do. I cannot say enough about the 510. They are an awesome choice for anyone who is just getting itno vaping.

What is so cool is that there are so many flavors to make vaping so much more enjoyable than smoking and the 510's are not slouches in this department. The flavors come through really good. :p

Oooh... I almost forgot... New 510... Make SURE to remove the primer fluid from the atomizer, it is DISGUSTING! Blow some canned air through the hole where it attaches to the battery. Fluid will start dripping out the other end, keep blowing until it is gone. Then stir it around in warm water. Blow it out again until completely dry. Repeat as many times as you like... Vaping primer fluid is about the nastiest taste in the world! Once you are satisfied that it is clean, drip 4-5 drops of juice directly onto the atomizer and enjoy!

Oh man. So the Blu cig stock flavors suck .... as you may or may not know. But I love vaping so much that I can deal with javajolt or vivid vanilla (When I first got the blu I thought they were AWESOME, but as it was my first vaping experience, I think I would have liked anything.)

So I vape the vanilla or java with the blu usually all day almost non-stop. And when I do decide that I just need a large hit of some nic and reach for an analog..... Oh man. So gross.

I think the biggest plus about vaping for me is the wonderful world of flavors. I can see myself buying copious amounts of e-juice.

Excellent choice, in my opinion. The 510 atties get the best reviews, anyway, and even if you move on to bigger batteries (which is basically all mods are about, and eGos, too), the small ones are still neat if you just need something small to put in your pocket.

Also, with adapters costing 2 bucks at heaven-gifts these days, you can cheaply try other atties; I find that indeed some liquids do taste better in a 901, particuarly Parma Violet I only vape from a 901 attie mounted on 510 batteries. (Which btw looks extra-stylish in wine red on a black 510 mega battery. Just still admiring that setup.)

Just do keep a few spare parts around after you decide whether vaping is for your or not. I managed to break one of only two atties after a few days (there is such a thing as too enthusiastic cleaning). And from there, of course, its a matter of choosing what else one might need. USB passthrough, PCC, mega-batteries, mega-atties … have fun with trying out these :D
